"Northern. Regularly check entertainment box website under firmwares, you will see and updates on that page and an idiots guide to flash firmware to box. Takes two minutes."

Old m8 keeps switching itself off every so often and my (site that can't be mentioned) would just pause after about 3 mins on it so I've upgraded to the t8v3 and not looked back - awesome piece of kit

The acceleration all dependent on what hardware you're using and what version of Kodi or the add-on etc

"No leave it on for everything, that' it's default setting Some people were having problems on some links and the advice was to turn acceleration off but for me, I've always had it on"

"Cheers that has worked. I'm guessing it is supposed to be turned off when trying to stream live football, but turned on when watching non live links?"

Here's a helpful tip for you: Wipe the lot. Install Kodi Jarvis. Put any add-ons you want on like Bulldog and White Cream. Now what Wookie Lite on it. Change back to Confluence with large thumbnails. Go to Videos then Add Ons. Bingo! There's the ones you installed in with all the ones Wookie put on for you. Uncle Gank sorts your problems

"Northern Sold 12:23 Wed Apr 6 Firmware is the programming that makes the device work, in terms of what it does and how you view it. Without it it would just be a box of wires sitting next to your telly. Usually it's updated to keep up with outside threats, eliminate known bugs, allow new apps to run etc. However with Amazon it seems to be more about not letting you avoid their paid-for content."

"Wookie's TWITTER posted up a workaround to still use it, but it seemed a right faff. Shame, as I had it set up just how I wanted it, with a background pic of my missus's beachside hometown in NZ (seemed to keep her onside while I was geeking around with the front room telly)."

Fire TV/Stick's firmware is updating today. Bad: Firestarter is no longer supported Good: Kodi shows up on your recent apps
