Daily Quiz anyone?
"If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells? I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature. I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers. You mark your own answers and post your score. I will then record the scores and at the end of the ""lockdown"" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves) Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions. Any interest?"

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
Westside is correct on the Bond question. Until a few years ago the futures based coupon on something like Gilts was 6% when the actual cash bonds were way below at 2%. Futures markets very rarely change the coupon

East. All the Index's I listed have a futures market associated with it. There is a Ftse 250 but it has no underlying futures based hedge.

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
"11 for me today unless you will allow ""yield"" instead of coupon (which I claim is a correct alternative). it isn't. Coupon is the rate the government, pays on the bond, regardless of what you paid for the bond (i.e. at par). The price of bonds rises and falls. They are treated, like equities.. The coupon stays the same on the, but the yield on the bond changes, as the price of the bond falls, or rises in relation to par. Say a government bond is issued at £100, with a 5% coupon. The bond prices fall, to say £50. You buy at £50. You will be paid interest at the coupon rate, at par, £5, i.e. 5%. The yield will be 10%"

"11 for me today unless you will allow ""yield"" instead of coupon (which I claim is a correct alternative). In which case it is 12 for me. Although I got FTSE 100 I also know there is also a FSTE 250 index. it is used as a tracker. Not up to date on this stuff I would have thought some of the other indexes would have alternative numbers of companies that are used. As the answer points out one changed recently Also whilst I am going on one. ( And although I got Apple as an answer) Comparing a company's capitalisation (Cap) to the GDP of a country is not meaningful."

"Ah yes Nick and Danny, forgot those, and yes 8 is an awful, dreadful, corny film of the highest order but fantastically brilliant at the same time. MD You might appreciate the three series documentary series on Netflix called ""The Movies That Made Us"". A different take on film documentaries with a touch of humour added to the proceedings,. It's a great watch albeit fast paced, but some really interesting movie facts like did you know ""Halloween"" only cost $325,000
