The bloke is Spanish and managed at their highest levels and done pretty well in an era where they keep churning out 'football people'. He's taken inspiration from working with Johan Cruyff who as a player implemented total football. I'll give a chance Trunds on this basis.....of being a 'football person'

If that is the case then I expect Stiedten to walk instead Trunds. Whatever reason he left Wolves he basically wanted things put in place to be judged on football matters if they are not in place he walks.....I....as in me alone...like this about him....if his stipulations are in place and the types of player he want are got in then he is willing to fall on his sword if it goes tits up......but the fact he wants it to be for football reasons makes me like him already......

I'm not sure I'd learn anything I didn't already know about Sullivan if Lopetegui did leave just days before the season starts. It'll be shit for the club if we're having to look around for a a manager days before the season starts, though."

"To me it is Trunds, as this is a manager who clearly wants financial backing if the club is serious about stepping it up. Sullivan has always got the crowd to just turn on the manger in the past, and the media just let him get away with it. I want club owners to be exposed and held accountable more for their decisions as these clubs mean a lot more and are in some cases a big part of their community to just have them be some ego's toy........"

Because we are now having to rebuild a squad this was never going to be a managerial appointment we could all agree on. Until we see the type of players he or Steitden gets in (after their chats) or if they could do a 'Winston Reid' type transformation on some of our current defenders then we have to just wait and see. The only thing I'd say about this bloke is he's managed at all levels at the top of the chain and been deemed competent in most of those jobs or enough of them to say he must be able to do something with West Ham if he is backed in the transfer market. I personally like the fact he has shown he will easily call out Sullivans antics if need be and in the best way to expose him......

"We’re all making educated ( and uneducated :-) ) guesses about the future. Looking at stats fir his past clubs etc. im another who did not get excited but in truth does anyone have a clue in how successful or unsuccessful this Loptegui bloke will be? We dont know all the circumstances in play at Seville, Porto, Spain, Madrid. Yes some things are known but still not enough imo to be able to predict how things will go. Steidten’s influence and how he works with new and existing players etc. unless someone has been stalking him for the last 10-20 years , thet are working with an incomplete data set. The soft skills like managing the psychological side of different players and relationships etc are often critical. Like I say, we will only know if this is a good or bad or indifferent appoinment after at least half a season and sometimes longer. For now Im just hoping his early appointment will give us a headstart on a huge turjiver and transfer effort with most business completed by start of pre season. We can make a prediction about him which will be speculative at best but probably just “a shot in the dark” ( cue for a song ) . Danger with nailing the colours early is that for the weak minded, insecure types they are not willing to be wrong, let alone being assured or confident enough to admit it. Hence we are now prrhaps seeing the battle lines for the next 3 years of “oneupmanship” being drawn by those who “need” to elevate themselves above other posters. And often then resorting to insults and name calling to try and belittle others if they are really insecure. I didnt want him particularly based on little knowledge but willwait and see now. If he’s a success in will be great and in spite of the likes of me :-)"
