Woke watch
"There is a very good section on GB news where the ludicrous idiocies of Wokeness are looked at I thought we would should have one for WHO. I'll start with Baptiste on BBC: In Hungary,an ambassador's family are kidnapped by Islamic terrorists and carry out atrocities. At the end of the last episode Baptiste finds out that it is a false flag operation and conveniently, the real culprits are white supremacists who want to stop all immigration. Coronation Street ITV a gay black footballer is stopped by the police, because he is driving an expensive car. He is pushed to the ground during an altercation, and damages his leg threatening his career. Could have been written by Dawn Butler or a BLM activist."

"easthammer 3:57 Sat Mar 11 Exactly. The policy is just a smokescreen from the government to take people’s mind off the soaring cost of living. Or to blame it on immigrants. Instead of censoring people, the BBC should present the facts and have a balanced debate. All this achieves is everyone becomes further entrenched in their views."

Re: Woke watch
"There is only one BBC in the eyes of the public - matters not that they, themselves allocate whatever they produce into areas like ""mews"", ""sport"", ""current affairs"" - especially as they then to go on to blur the demarcation lines by sticking a sports story under ""news"" - often if it involves one of their favoured teams. Cakes being eaten and had on both sides, methinks."

Re: Woke watch
"If Lineker is entitled to breach his contract under the defence of ""free speech"", his inaccurate comparison of the fake conservative govt to the Reich of 1930 Germany is clear disinformation at worst and misinformation at best. No doubt Frau Marianna Spring will make a documentary about this."

Re: Woke watch
"Why would the BBC pay a bloke £1.5 million of license payers money when the show can be hosted by any competent presenter. There must be hundreds of them queuing up for that job at a fraction of the price. Pundits too can easily be replaced and they need not be top footballers, just somebody who can read a game, they even have women doing it now. Do they even need ""experts"". Sack the lot of them"

Re: Woke watch
"He was obviously referencing the rise of the Nazis. He didn't need to use the word ""Nazi"". I think he went over a line with that reference in terms of impartiality. Having said this, there are lots of other people who work for the BBC in News who have or used to have very political opinions stated in public. Andrew Neil editing the Spectator as just one example. So Linekar clear breached impartiality rules... but so have other people. So I'm not sure whether BBC are being impartial in their enforcement of this rule."

Re: Woke watch
In this context referencing Germany in the 1930s then Nazi is exactly what he's implying. It makes no difference whether he actually said the word or not.

Re: Woke watch
"Fo the Communist 2:10 Sat Mar 11 Re: Woke watch I don’t know the answer but is it FACT that Lineker broke his contract? I still say this is about free speech. The question about whether he is breaking the terms of his contract, I would think, depends on how you define the meaning of the word ""impartiality"" and whether you think the issue at stake is a party political one. In my opinion it's insane to say that any kind of criticism of the government is politically partial, especially in a case like this where it could easily be argued that this is a moral issue as well as a political one. Anybody, including the BBC, is free to make it publicly known that they disagree with Lineker and distance themselves from his views, and leave it at that, which would be the sensible thing to do. So I would say that they are wrong to think of this as a breach of political impartiality rules, but I can appreciate that the lines here are blurred. Good luck with sorting it out. The BBC have clearly weighed into this with no exit strategy."

Re: Woke watch
"Kaiser. Not just Linekar. The BBC have to get tough on this or any impariality claims will be laughed at should GL host MOTD again. Scott should be booted off the one show and the likes of Shearer, Chapman, Wright et al should all be tild that if they dont turn up for their next scheduled shift then dont bother turning up at all. Perhaps some of these cunts will then ease up in their desperation to be virtue signaller of the week!"

Re: Woke watch
"I am pretty much 'A' political these days. But if I were a tory supporter I would be laughing my cock off at the moment. The abject government that I support being so far behind in the polls in the run-up to an election they were bound to lose needed a ""dog whistle"" policy which would gain them points. ""Stop the boats"" is launched. A great slogan headlining a policy with little chance of solving the problem (even according to some of their fellow tories) being championed by the latest in a line of poor quality ministers (Braverman) applying ill-judged and ridiculous rhetoric to the mix (billions are coming) What a relief nobody is now talking about that because the ""real"" problem is whether Gary Lineker or the BCC has got it right! PS I only watch Match of the Day when the Hammers win so don't see that often to miss it if it goes"

"ay winstone 1:40 Sat Mar 11 Nice try. Who did he mean ray? If for example, I was to describe you as 'an ageing masturbater who likes to toss himself off to pictures of underage boys', I'd be pretty hard-pressed to deny the accusation that I'd called you an old gay, paedo wanker, wouldn't I? You'd be clutching at your stroke mags, not saying, 'oh It's OK, he didn't call me old, a wanker or a paedo, so I have no idea what he meant' Silly person."
