"COYI needs to keep his BS to himself, WH fans are looking forward to the season now, who wants to come on here and read that contrary nonsense. Take it elsewhere. I like Solanke, but fancy your average Spud will be looking down his big nose at spending 60 mil on Bournemouth's striker."

"spurs' business has made them look like a second rung club to us. struggle to find a player of theirs who'd get into our XI. pedro porro would, but cant think of many others."

"COYI wrote ""This is desperate stuff. Todibo was bombed out of Barcelona for not being good enough."" Just looked up his career stats He joined Barcelona when he was just 19 4 appearances and was put out on loan, to Schalke 8 appearances then to Benfica 0 appearances. A third loan when he was still just 20 to Nice after initial loan 15 appearances he was bought by them. Now over 100 appearances, 2 French caps, interest from Man Utd and Juve, and your assessment is he was bombed out by Barca and not good enough? and he still just 24 no age for a CB"

"Nicolò Schira @NicoSchira Done Deal! Jean-Clair #Todibo to #WestHam from #OGCNice for €40M + a % on the future sale. Contract until 2029 (€4M/year). #WHUFC have overtaken #Juventus, which offered a loan (5M) with option to buy (28M + 2M as bonuses) which could become an obligation upon reaching certain conditions and a salary of 2,5M/year until."

"I suspect a fair few of our squad, old and new, would be deemed ""Not good enough for Barcelona"", so it's not really clear what message that post is trying to convey."

"It’s gonna be tough, didn’t want to be to negative but not excited with defence and the players adapting to Lopes play, slow start."

"Do you not think you're jumping the shark a little too early this season, COYI?"

This is desperate stuff. Todibo was bombed out of Barcelona for not being good enough. I'm not impressed with any of these desperate signings and I am seriously concerned that a relegation battle is looming. Lopetegui will be gone by January.

"If Todibo turns out to be a loan with the obligation to buy, I think it would be unlikely ( though not impossible ) that we would complete the transfer next year and immediately transfer him out to Man Utd And if we were to move him on it would presumably be only at a massively inflated price, given I read the deal included a sell-on clause to benefit Nice. All speculation and he hasn't even signed yet!"

"This thread/window has more of the feel of how I'd expect a Premier League club expecting, not just hoping for, European football next season. We seem to be putting together a squad with enough depth to keep our options live as long as possible in all 3 national competitions. Oh, and I look forward to the moment when we tell the mighty, the invincible, the feared and undoubtedly world renowned and respected Manchester United to just do one as we no longer now need any of their cast-offs and they're lumbered with AWB and his costs for the season. Full marks for whoever it was allowed the recruitment team to do it's job this time around."

"Looks like we have gone the extra yard with Todibo to get him in, latest is Eur48 mil and he's on a plane to London for the medical, I'm thinking Lop wants him in for Villa."

"Man U desperately wanted him. The only thing stopping them this season was because Nice and Man Utd are in the same competition, otherwise he'd be there. Anyway, I'm not going to get into a pointless to and fro with you on this. As you said, it is only my opinion."

"Lee Trundle 12:07 Fri Aug 9 ''It wouldn't surprise me to see the slippery Ratcliffe put something in the contract so this is effectively just a years loan for us, and he's off to them next summer.'' That's your opinion, OK, but I couldn't disagree more, it's utter fucking nonsense, and I hope I don't need to spoon feed why."

"Todibo looks potentially a brilliant bit of business, hopefully it gets done today. Wan Bissaka I think we should stay in for, only to piss MU off royally when we finally tell them we don’t want him. Makes them keep a player they don’t want and fucks up the Maz deal, win win. Especially if there’s a deal to be done with Kadioglu."

I think you are right re Man United. They want him but can’t buy him from Nice as both are owned by Ineos. I

"Everything points towards Todibo being a fantastic signing. Reckon he'll be off to Man Utd next season if the does turn out to be amazing for us, sadly."

Looks like Tobido is a done deal. £80m on two centre backs is a lot. Can’t say the new coach has not been backed.

Juventus have been in pole position on the Todibo deal for weeks and havent got it done I am sure they bought another defender as well a few weeks back Hopefully Todibo has given up on them and is soon pictured with Tim Scarf on the private jet I dont blame a player for wanting to go to Juve for Champions league etc but would be a great coup to get him

Blimey Jean-Clair Todibo sent off after 9 seconds in Nice v Angers. Jean-Clair Todibo made history on Sunday afternoon for all the wrong reasons.
