Russell Brand
Dispatches tonight could be about him so he has jumped in first dismissing claims and rumours and saying anything he did in past was consensual. No doubt it will be said that this is The Matrix coming after him due to his opposition to mainstream media.

Re: Russell Brand
"Had to laugh last night. Saw a Twitter post from Brand about being unfairly targeted to which Michael Barrymore had linked a comment to ""This is what they do...."" and another poster responded ""Michael, a man got buggered to death in your swimming pool. I'd sit this one out if I was you..."" LOL."

Full Claret Jacket 11:02 Tue Sep 19 I totally agree with everything you say. Apart from the fact that this is happening to Brand because of his views on the global elite. Because hasn't the same thing happened to other celebs before who don't have the same views as Brand or in fact air any views.

"Oh do fuck off, Michael My post was not directed at you, and even if it was addressing Edward, another of my social case friends on here, what I was saying was perfectly neutral and factual: to wit, Brand's selected audience is reactionary working class, he is milking it and really has nothing practical of any value to offer, especially when it comes to really exposing corruption and power abuse in the establishment and offering proper policy responses to real social problems affecting his audience. He's an entertainer and you're his paycheck. Deal with it."

Re: Russell Brand
"Regardless of whether Brand was a sex pest and women involved have now decided his behaviour doesnt fit with what is acceptable, what we are seeing here is the power of a social credit system. Somebody 'alleges' that something someone has done or said is wrong and they are guilty, stripped of income and demonised. There isnt even a need for evidence, conviction or a time limit on the allegation. This is a powerful blackmail tool. Obey or else. Waiting for his assets to be frozen or taken as they ramp up. Whether the guy deserves what's coming or not, the system is wrong and places control in the wrong places. In my book this is 100 percent initiated by those who dont like his growing audience and alternative exposure of what is going on in the world."

"It’s not a right v left issue, it’s an attack on the establishment, and always is, regardless of the direction. You could predict what morons would be backing Murdoch and C4 and the BBC with 100% certainty."

"And if he did not have his views on youtube, would all this have happened? My sceptical mind says no."
Re: Russell Brand
Havent seen any of his conspiracy bollocks on youtube. However... Does it actually matter if he's right or left? If he's guilty of rape or sexual assault of any kind then I hope the police prosecute him and send him down for a long time. If this is just speculation and bollocks then the trial by media needs to stop. Whether you think he's a bellend or not (fwiw I think he's an utter bellend)

Re: Russell Brand
"""most outrageous comedians pushing boundaries and most musicians and bands sticking it to the man etc were left wing.""... ...but virtually all of them came from a more privileged background than the majority of the population that enabled them to hone their skills, whether it was parents paying for, or providing themselves, extra tuition, members of the same synagogue/church offering facilities (like a hall within witch to practice) and even (the use of) musical instruments. Furthermore, many were born into families already connected to the entertainment business, so entry/acceptance was that little bit easier - only a little bit easier, but a big enough little bit to help with the step up the celebrity ladder. Both Brand and, while we're dancing around the ""local lad made good"" label, Billy Bragg have done very well for themselves, thank-you-very-much, so it's important to accept that it is possible to achieve fame & fortune from a less privileged upbringing, but they are very much the exception, not the rule and rolling them out as ""examples"" proves nothing. A lot of left-wingism these days is done from a position of having an ivory tower to run back to if it all goes tits up. Going back to the original subject of this thread, I actually feel that this whole media circus, that Channel 4, The Times & Sunday Times must have hoped would happen just to boost viewing/readership numbers will actually deter more women from coming forward, not encourage them - and it will be those most likely to go on to develop mental issues in the future who are now deterred. That for me is 100% criminal intent and should be investigated to the same level of intensity being drawn against Brand; will it? Will the media investigate 3 of their own to such a degree? Will it fuck."

Re: Russell Brand
"There was a great quote that Brand used at the hight of the Covid authoritarianism and the removal of freedoms and rights: “Tyranny is the deliberate removal of nuance.” Albert Maysles Here Albert meant that tyranny was an attempt to remove thoughtfulness, creativity, and self-expression from society (often through physical oppression) at the expense of originality. Nuance is simply subtle differences in interpretation or expression, and tyranny is almost uniformly obsessed with uniformity. A related quote that fits the same line of abstract thought. “After being sent to the Czech Republic, then Czechoslovakia, to investigate an underground resistance paper that opposed the existing guard Christopher Hitchens made the promise: “I’m not going to do it. I’ll be the first journalist that visits there and doesn’t mention Kafka.” After the police kicked in their meeting, moments after it began, the author asked the secret police, “what’s the charge?” To this question, the secret police laughed ostensibly and then quipped, “It’s Czechoslovakia….we don’t have to tell you what the charge is.” They then threw him up against the wall as they arrested him and, as he says, that from the moment he hit the wall, he thought to himself, “Fuck. I am going to have to mention Kafka now.” Hitchens’s point here is that they don’t care that their tyrannical methods are boring or they lack nuance; they use them specifically for that reason. This is precisely the point that Albert Maysles is driving at so succinctly and quite beautifully in this quote. “"

Re: Russell Brand
It’s getting ridiculous. The ‘story’ about Vanessa Feltz being ‘deeply offended’ about a joke he made in an interview once. People do need to separate the persona everyone wanted and expected him to play up to from the human being. And I know he’s not short of a Bob or two but to take away his ability to make a living on what is still essentially gossip is quite something.

Re: Russell Brand
"scott_d 10:28 Tue Sep 19 Re: Russell Brand i think his point is more the characterisation of the word 'Far', in this case 'far right'. Far right would be the EDL, the NF, the BNP etc - the suggestion that people like Elon Musk, Tucker Carlson, and even Donald Trump, hold 'far right' ideologies is patently absurd. Absolutely fucking ridiculous, to anyone with a functioning braincell. Still, if you redefine the spectrum sufficiently, and move far enough left, then these people may very well be far to the right of you, but it doesn't make them far right to anyone who actually lives in the real world. The same is true in reverse, fwiw."
Re: Russell Brand
"""If a creator's off-platform behaviour harms our users, employees or ecosystem, we take action,"" said a YouTube spokesperson on Tuesday. He's gone too far now, he's only gone and shagged the ecosystem!"
Re: Russell Brand
"The majority of people are hypocritical, myself included. When accusations like this happen to people i like, I think it is innocent until proven guilty and that the tabloids are scum for the way they report it and YouTube are out of order for taking away his income stream. But when it’s someone I don’t like, like Andrew Tate or Donald Trump, I want the media to go in hard and I want platforms to ban them."
Re: Russell Brand
"Pwoper So what you are saying is that the Far Right are the truth seekers, the brave, the heroes and the Far Left are the sheep, pansies and cowards? If you're right, you're right. If you're left, you're wrong. An insightful, balanced description. Thanks!"

Re: Russell Brand
Russell Brand was skilled at getting girls to have sex with him. He used the same skills to get men (mainly) to click on his conspiracy theory videos and listen to his football podcasts. Channel 4 are skilled at producing cheap telly. The Russell Brand programme was the cheapest Saturday night telly. It’s all a load of rubbish. They deserve each other.

Re: Russell Brand
"Back to the left & right argument that Capitol man, pickle etc get confused with. Back when people read more than watched, the likes of Pilger, Chomsky, most outrageous comedians pushing boundaries and most musicians and bands sticking it to the man etc were left wing. Now, if you dare to question the BBC, CNN narrative and don’t believe that you should obey the government even whilst witnessing their wars and greed. If you dare raise a question against what the crowd accepts. If you don’t believe in racial segregation. If you believe in the power of yourself as an individual and refuse to be a victim. If you call out hypocrisy and clear conspiracy. If you didn’t like being forced to wear a mask, mandated to be injected or being locked in your house. If you question the likes of WEF, C40 cities etc If you feel people should be given better food and better health advice. If you worry that tech companies are harvesting too much data Etc etc etc - then you are now far right. If you tune in, drop out and accept, obey and comply you are left wing and virtuous because the Internet told you so. All the while this pointless argument of labels rages in the Western world we can turn a blind eye to atrocities committed in the name of freedom elsewhere. So long as the cheeseburgers and Netflix specials keep coming everything will be ok… ….apart from climate change of course where we are all going to die in 10yrs, 20yrs, 30yrs, 40ys….keep moving forward once we pass the date. Back to Brand - the police are investigating so let’s see when happens. If he has a case to answer then he is a scum bag. I did notice that the 16 year olds story changed - on the dispatches special she said that she met Brand when at the MTV offices where she was with a friend who worked there. On her women’s hour interview, she claimed that she was approached by Brand whilst shopping in Leicester Square."

Re: Russell Brand
"dean Brand has repeatedly said to his audience that it IS possible to agree with some things on the left and some things on the right and still only have one head on your shoulders; something I have always agreed with. It is possible to be left wing and champion freedom of speech, and be right wing and be against corporate corruption. Brand, your rabid right winger is always respectfully disagreeing with his audience on certain things, like believing in commie ideas like NHS and social security, and more regulations within a free (as reasonably possible) market."
