Assuming this Todibo fella meets the performance levels he’s achieved in France it would definitely be the “cherry on the cake” deal this window and equivalent to getting Kudus last season which little old West Ham were not expected to do. A right back upgrade would remain and being greedy another younger forward like Duran and left back cover although both Aguerd or Cornet cpuld in theory cover that slot. But thats probably fantasy? Cornet and / or Aguerd would need to he sold to get Duran or someone elseup front and the thought of Cornet as backup at left back ( even tho he was at Lyon ) causing a shudder ;-). Aguerd might be ok there as backup at LB as he’s quick and the physical demands not as great aerially but he looked ddgy in preseason games to say the least. Lets see if Timbo can actually make thus Todibo deal happen. I may put my knickers back in the drawer and soak myself in “commando” mode if he does sign

Given the business we have already done if we can add Todibo and AWB to that I think a little bit of wee may come out.

"Chuffed with the Todibo news, overchuffed in fact. You have to wonder if Aguerd is going or not, all gone quiet with that one. Apparently AVB's loyalty payment that he is insisting on is 7 mil and not 3, according to Gonzo anyway."

"Alfredo Pedulla Todibo, Juve pushes the rope too much and West Ham is about to take him home When you push the rope too hard and don't close a deal, the risk is that of a shipwreck. Juventus is losing Todibo: after yesterday's blitz and the meeting with Nice, it was another day looking for the right combinations to find the conditions for the loan that becomes an obligation. Too much time wasted. A continuous postponement that has tired Todibo and Nice, to the point that West Ham has put up the money, about 40 million, needed to cross the finish line. West Ham had been courting Todibo for some time but the defender had given priority to Juventus. But then, rightly, he got tired of waiting and turned towards the Premier League. It would be a difficult blow to take, if only because Todibo was one of Thiago Motta's priorities. But when you don't close, the others overtake you and you certainly can't complain."

"Gianluca Di Marzio @DiMarzio #Calciomercato | @juventusfc Very strong insertion of @WestHam on #Todibo , who would take him outright spending 40 million euros. Now it's up to the player to decide and he seems inclined to accept the offer from the English"

I see Tottenham are trying to shift Richarlison to Saudi because they want to buy Solanke Fair play to him telling them he isn’t going as he wants to play for Brazil & in a proper league Hopefully he continues to fuck up their plans Surprised there hasn’t been more interest in Solanke & Toney though understand Solanke’s buy out is £65m

I've no doubt whatsoever there's investment coming into the club .I suspect it's telling we've got a buyer for zouma from Dubai of all places . Were looking too ambitious for a club owned by David Sullivan. Interesting times .

"Ron Eff 4:43 Thu Aug 8 ""I don’t recall you being so negative on everything historically. You set your stance early on the manager and are now doubling down being anti every decision. It’s mostly whingeing for the sake of it."" Don't fall into that trap just because I'm just not as giddy as many over Lopetegui's appointment. I'm more positive with him than I was last season! I thought the squad was too old and too slow last season. I'd be a massive hypocrite if I didn't think it was too old and slow now that it's got even older (and possibly slower)."

".... okay, had a look on twitter since last post... I can't believe it but apparently Fenerbache could be open to selling Kadioglu and Brighton are supposedly the only club to have made an offer so far (of 35€). If there is even a tiny hope of getting him we should be all over it. Man Utd can't buy until they have sold AWB and Real Madrid have no money... we need to offer Soucek and 20m and you never know it could happen!! Kadioglu was the best player at the Euro, he can play FB on either side, in fact he can play practically anywhere (apart from CB)."

"As Russ has said, we have no chance of signing Ferdi Kadioglu and the fact that we have made a low bid is just embarrassing really. I don't think he will leave Fenerbache yet but if he does he will end up at Real Madrid or Man City. Trippier is 34 in September. Big 'no' to that unless fee is nominal and (very) short term. Hummels I think could offer something for free on a one year (rolling) deal."

"Lee Trundle 3:38 Thu Aug 8 You couldn’t have imagined it even though all retained players are a year older? The first eleven is stronger and we have better depth. That’s ultimately all that matters this season. Even assuming we signed no others, our likely starting 11 would have an average age of 27.3. Even if you put the new Argie in it would be 27.7. Alvarez, Paqueta, Kudus, Bowen, Summerville all 27 and under from midfield upwards. We are likely integrating Earthy and Potts into the squad properly. Should we sell Bowen and buy a 23 year old just to try to average the age down, and 27 is now past it? I don’t recall you being so negative on everything historically. You set your stance early on the manager and are now doubling down being anti every decision. It’s mostly whingeing for the sake of it."

"Sydney_Iron 12:10 Thu Aug 8 Kadioglu is a top player. Made team of the Euro's. Arguably Turkey's best player. From what I see of him he has energy to run all day, pace, power and gets up and down. Good defender but also very good going forward. I can tell you now two things 1) There is no chance Fernerbache will let him go for £29m and 2) There is no way West Ham will get him in front of a whole host of elite clubs who will be in for him."
