Daily Quiz anyone?

Post easthammer »

"If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells? I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature. I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers. You mark your own answers and post your score. I will then record the scores and at the end of the ""lockdown"" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves) Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions. Any interest?"

"Just to be clear on my train of thought, ""Danger Island"" was a short 10 minute serial thing actually played during Banana Splits as part of the program. Even after writing the first entry this morning I Uh-Oh Chongoed to myself when I dropped a tiny screw. Totally impossible not to add the Chongo now, will take that habit to the grave"

"Sorry for the Banana Splits one chaps. It seems the same struggle I had at a quiz years ago. The same question was in there and I had been a Banana Splits fan as a kid so confidently told the team I had that one. Nope, just Drooper,. totally a drew a blank on the others despite watching it religiously! Don't remember Danger Island but was into all things Tarzan as a kid. The Johnny Weismuller films were always on in Summer Holidays and I also remember the TV series with Ron Ely who I always thought was Roger Moore! Remember that Planet of the Apes TV series as well which I as a kid thought starred Starsky and Hutch as America had a blond and dark haired guy in verything back then. Chips was the same. And they say diversity didn't exist in the 70's!"

"Just 2. No Banana Splits. Was thinking of writing four Random names based on Snorkel which rang a bell but didn't and cant claim that Snorky would have been one of them. Used to watch. Anyone remember the Tarzan type live action thing that Google tells me now was called Danger Island. Apparently directed by Richard Donner who went on to bigger and better things. The lead character had a call ""Uh-oh, Chongo"" and to this day I cant utter the phrase Uh-oh (as in Uh-oh that thing is about to fall over) without adding Chongo at the end."

"3 I used to watch Banana Splits all the time too, but couldn't remember the names for the life of me. Came up with Bungo - think I got it a bit crossed with Mary, Mungo and Midge. Anyway, cheers Zico."

Snorky was the one that evaded me. Used to absolutely love it as a kid. But think it was mainly the theme song
