"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"Washington's change of name was inevitable the moment the sponsors got involved. It's all about the dollars now, I'm afraid. So it's worth just reflecting that in the new name. Washington SponsoredBy Washington Creditors Washington Avoidance The FedEx Fuckstains Something along those lines? Not sure the Jets' name will last, given the shift to green energy!"

"Minnesota has an NBA team called the Timberwolves, howling hasn't helped the team much at all"

"Despite most native Indians not having a problem with the name or emblem the Redskins get more grief than other teams due to an old newspaper advertisement. It was from way back, 1870's or some-such. When the US State was driving Indians off the land and there was a bounty on all dead bodies. It advertised ""Bring in a Redskin and collect $5 Bounty""ù Mark my words it will not stop with sport or the Redskins, the people don't know when to stop. And I personally think they do not where to start. But I suspect most have already made that presumption."

"I think I prefer Redwolves - I like the idea of howling, that would be good in the stadium. Don't like Redtails at all, not keen on Warriors either."

"Lee Trundle 5:31 Mon Jul 13 Re: NFL (since 2016) The Chiefs do a tomahawk chop and war cry at their home games, which would make it difficult if they did change their name to something more PC. Exeter Chiefs do that as well...."

"Lee Trundle 4:52 Mon Jul 13 The Chicago Blackhawks (formerly Black Hawks) were named after an actual person out of respect, same with the emblem. It has received a lot less criticism than those other clubs."

The Redskins are no more. Haven't decided what to call themselves yet but are definitely losing the Redskins name as per a news release today. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/washington-redskins-retire-team-name

"The Eagles are falling apart. Desean Jackson, a man who got paid £8 million last year for doing nothing, has quoted Hitler on the Jews*. Malik Jackson is supporting Desean citing well known anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan, Marquis Godwin and Alshon Jeffrey have chimed in saying he shouldn't have to apologise, and presumably anyone not in line with the latest thinking from the Nation of Islam, is keeping their head down. They won the Superbowl off the back of an incredible locker room and they are a mess. The problem is recruitment too. Only one of those was on the roster for the Superbowl win and he should have been got rid of last year. *He thought it was Hitler but it turned out that the quote was mis-attributed."

"I'd love to get involved with a fantasy league this year. I've never done it before and would most likely lose interest if I am crap, and wouldn't want to let those down who put effort in. I'm happy to make up the numbers if needed, but I'm just putting that warning out there!"
