"Or should i say they are attacking to get THEIR land back. Good luck to them. The World will watch and do nothing to help them as they always do, shame on us."

"Glad you’re here, White Van Lady. See, Wee Twundle here has been WHO-mailing me pretty much twice an hour all afternoon. The poor sod seems to be having some kind of a breakdown over being carded - seems he believes I’ve had something to do with it because he called my grandparents Nazis in a post today. I’ve referred him to you as the specialist in these matters. Ta rah."

Surely everyone knows that the best way to take military personnel as hostages is to attack a music festival rather than a military base.

"No elections since 2006? That’s because the PA pulled the plug on the ones that were due to happen in the last couple of years. Hamas are guilty of a lot of things, but they do not decide whether elections can be pulled. The reason they were pulled, was because Hamas had gained more support in the West Bank, and there was increased disillusionment with the PA."

"Cheers for that Roots, so there was every chance even the 'more moderate' option could have turned into a terrorist organisation? Also it was always likely the Palestinians would reject any assistance from Israel purely on the basis they do not trust each other after 1000's of years of hatred for each other. I mean you wouldn't get your enemy to do your accounts would you."

"The alternative was the more moderate PA. No elections since then in 2006 either. They never fail to miss an opportunity. Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005, demolished the settler homes and dragged the settlers out, left infrastructure and goodwill. It could have been a paradise but they destroyed the Israeli infrastructure then elected Hamas to fight Israel."

"What were the alternatives in that election of theirs? And what was the turnout? Once you are not allowed to have an official army to defend your country I've yet to see any country that hasn't been taken over by terrorists in the long run, election or not."

"I see that the BBC are putting up ""Guilt Driver"" articles on their ""news"" website now about orphans in Gaza. If their parents' hadn't voted into power an administration that invited hell to rain down on them from above then they wouldn't be orphans. Responsible parenting, innit?"

"They did cite that reason, read the link. The Mufti rejecting was another factor obviously. Moving forward to 1948 and the UN partition plan and UN resolution 181 which got a majority yes vote. Again accepted by Jews and rejected by the Arab League who preferred war and though they surrounded and out numbered the new state of Israel, lost. The plan included Jerusalem being a UN international zone. It was quickly occupied by Jordan with all Jews expelled and barred from even seeing their holiest site until the 1967 war. Christianity was restricted and Jerusalem was Islamised with the destruction of Jewish buildings and history. Now all religions are free to assemble and practice. When pro Palestinians refer to a return to pre 1967 borders (which were originally rejected in 1948 by the Arab League) they mean Jordan occupying Jerusalem again. The issue for Palestinians now is that their neighbours won't help them because a) they have designs on the region themselves, and b) Palestinian refugees in neighbouring countries have caused trouble and destabilised those countries by siding with anti government forces. The Egyptians have built a wall on their border with Gaza to keep out extremists and The Muslim Brotherhood who are in Gazza."

"Even if the British indeed withdrew from the Peel Commission's recommendation because ""a Palestinian state was deemed unviable"", which is not the case, then the Palestinians really have a legal case against the British and not just the Zionist founders of the State of Israel. Good grief you really are shit at this, aren't you."
