Who knows with strikers from the Dutch league
For every Suarez there are a bunch of Ricky Van Wolfswinkels
Prefer a 22yo with some upside rather than strikers with a bus pass
I”m not “ excited “ about him because the statistics don’t really show much but I’ll trust Potter. I’d get excited about David because I know he is a superb player.
Which stats? I mean he's had a sub-par half a season, which can happen for all manner of reasons and is the ony reason we're even in with a sniff.
He's got career stats at 22 in the top flight in Holland of 102 games, 42 goals, 19 assists. On minutes played a difrect goal invovlement every 88 minutes.
And agains, he's only 22. Even this season, in 29 appearances he's got 3 goals and 7 assists...a direct goal invovlement every 135 mintues. And he's having a lesser season...which happens.
If we can get this guy for 20 to 25m would be fabulous business. Loan to buy, even better. Great signing if it happens (and for that reason, I doubt it will).
You’ve convinced me
Get ready for the disappointment

Based on nothing but youtube and gut instinct, I thought Emegha looked the best shout, but Brobbey is a massive step up on what we have and more potential than Silva. I’m in.
Basically he's a young Antonio but finishes with both feet. Only 22. All strength and power. Has the physique to hold defenders off and to find himself space. If you can't get excited about us signing a player like this, then it's hard to know what you could get excited about.

I don’t understand the fuss over Brobbey if I’m honest.
Not a prolific scorer, not overly pacey and just seems an underwhelming player.
Enlighten me and tell me why I’m wrong

I can’t to be honest. The little I read this morning and i haven’t checked it out is that he burst onto the scene, isn’t doing so well this season but holds the ball up well and brings the wingers into play a lot. That’s about it but I would rather a 22 year old who potter thinks he can work with?

Looks like Brobbey might be the striker…
Here’s hoping. But probably be letdown with Silva.

Captain at 23 & played 150 games
D Moyes at Everton also interested at a fee around £15m
Anyone watched him?

"West Ham are known for their attractive football and bringing through brilliant young talent, however, they’ll struggle to land one of their main January targets, Southampton’s £40m-rated 18-year-old, Tyler Dibling."
Jason Pettigrove- Caught Offside
It appears Jason has been living in a cave for the last 20 odd years!

How are we skint when we've just offered 57m for Duran this week?
We didn't though. It was 43m with add-ons that were unobtainable. A bid they knew would never be accepted.
Like me viewing a 10m house, and offering 3m. Doesn't mean I've got 3m.
I suspect we do have cash flow issues...but we're not a poor club, and we're not up against the wall on spending limits.
that's what sets us apart from success. Top clubs pay top money to get their man and don't play games. 16th richest and yet suspect im looking forward to some panic buy Ings mark 2 type signing.

Sorry, being thick but who is the over 30 average defender on a 7 year contract that cost £45m?

36? Free agent? Cheap? Premier league experience?
Checks all those Sullivan boxes for a January transfer. Probably offer the fucker a four year contract on 100k a week so he can spend three and ten months of those sitting in the stands on matchday or in the treatment room.
Who's his agent? Surely not.....
