"Maybe Lopetegui has a plan for using Ings to his strengths. And I certainly don’t see him changing Cresswell for Alvarez when losing at a canter, which was pretty much the last decision Moyes ever made at West Ham."

Who knows? Maybe Ings would have been played in a system that suits him and scored some goals. Maybe we’ll find out.

The North London Scream Queen saying it’s far from being done. And we are keeping our powder dry. And still mulling over other candidates. It’s agents and the media who are trying to press the issue.

"I can’t say I know that much about this man so I have an open mind. He did a decent job at Wolves but it is hard to judge such a short spell. He won the Europa League which is better than what Moyes could do. But so did Crystal Palace’s manager. And Villa’s manager won four. His team’s at least keep possession better, but fans will still moan if we can’t create good chances. We need a lot of new players, a new captain, and he needs to give a chance to a very talented group of academy players. I’m hoping that these things have all been discussed, and Noble and Steidten are onboard with him."

"Nagel 10:44 Mon May 6 Sorry, I meant last 15 years. Either way, it takes something spectacularly shit not to win anything with Real Madrid AND Porto. I'll let you lot get excited about him. The idea of him deflates me, to the point where I was almost on the point of boarding on keeping Moyes (that was before the tonking at the weekend). I just wanted someone on the way up, not someone on the way down from a place not very high as it was anyway."

Really don’t think he would have come here if we were a cash-strapped Wolves having to look to employ Dawson or Cresswell. Just think before you post. Oh hold on - it’s Twundle. Oh never mind.

"Dawson was a valuable needs must relegation avoiding signing in January to help steer them away from relegation. He adapts to the needs of a Team as and when it's appropriate. The reason he was looking at Cresswell and Ings (30yo who's actually half decent) was because of the limited budget he was asked to work with in relation to FFP. Hence why he eventually though fuck this, I'm off, this wasn't what I was promised and left on principle."

"He also went after Dawson, Cresswell, Inga and Antonio when told the cupboard was bare at Wolves and they could afford about 500k per player. They were not 'Plan A' by any stretch. Seems like he wants to be here, and buys into what Steidten is looking to do. We could do many many times worse."

"""good track record"" One of only 3 managers to not win a sausage art Real Madrid in the last 25 years? That type of thing? I'd be surprised if he has much of a sniff at the YOOFS as well. He'd be EXPERIENCED (old) enough to know that going for tried and tested is better than risking a youth player in there. It'll be the same old shit as we've had this season, minus Europe, I reckon."
