​​​​​​In the past he's favoured a 3-4-3 formation...hard to see how we can do that currently with only 3 senior CBs, one of whom is injured. He's also played wingers (Solly March as an example) in the wing back roles.

Typically when a 3-4-3 gets announced on a match day the manager is immediately described as being too negative, too cautious etc. I guess it depends on the composition of the 4.

He's given young players chances...hopefully that continues at West Ham.

Just sat and watched that podcast. Very interesting. He speaks very well and insightfully. Has used his time away from the game to look inside himself, deal with his disappointment, anger and grief. Admits he made mistakes. But obviously there were many things going on behind the scenes at Chelsea that contributed to his failure there. 
Looking forward to seeing what he can do with us now, assuming he’s actually announced. He definitely seems ready for the challenge. Quotes his style as being possession based, attacking, using young players and finding players from different markets (at Brighton). Also enjoyed working within a structured hierarchy.

I think Chelsea were just too big to soon for him at the time. Been a strange few years there with so many players and a lot of egos. Hopefully the break will have done him some good by way or assessing where it went wrong for him. 

Seems the dwarf wanted Allegri from what I'm hearing but Sullivan hasn't got it right with his foreign managers. Grant, Pellegrini and Lop, I don't consider Slav fully fledged foreign as he at least had some good knowledge of the Club. So feeling quite hopeful about Potter but as Mad Dog says it's the hope that kills you.

Yeh, think he’ll fit the bill perfectly.  Always said he’d be the best man for the job and I’m sure they’ll all snap out of not bothering/trying in games now the double-dutch clueless muppet has gone.
And with all the injuries we get, we definitely need a new GP about!

A lot of positive comments here so I may return again to read them. I've never rated him personally and a Chelsea friend of mine just contacted me to offer his condolences. Then again, I was wrong about Moyes so it remains to be seen if I'm wrong again. I agree no overhaul is needed just some key areas, but one of those key areas has IMHO held West Ham back for many seasons and that is we don't offer enough of a threat up front and it puts pressure on the midfield and defence. If he can solve that alone it might be worthwhile. It's very much fingers crossed here, I'm afraid.
