"2 FA cup wins, ECWC final, League cup final, third in the league.. Nope just facts. Moyes is not more successful than Lyall."

Rose tinted specs as I said. Lyall gave us some great times but he was as stubborn as Moyes.

We have had more success and good times under Moyes than we did under 14 years of Lyall. Utter nonsense

"We have had more success and good times under Moyes than we did under 14 years of Lyall. Watch the Robert Banks programme about the Lyall years, I had forgotten how shit we were most of the time under him. Plus he refused to improve the squad after 86 and we just died. Lyall will always be my favourite manager but we do have a rose tinted view of him."

Lee Trundle 12:47 Wed Jul 26 Depressing isn't it? I was brought up the West Ham way. Attacking entertaining football. From Greenwood to Lyall. In the last 13 years we've had Allardyce and Moyes.

Without Moyes Rice would be nothing. They both needed each other.

"I don't think it's really cricket to use comments like that as a stick to beat Moyes with. Of course Arteta is in a different league to Moyes, young clever coach, very tactical, deep thinker, educated by Guardiola, etc. a different league and time. Moyes is from a different era and old skool, so it's down to Sullivan to sack him."

"Declan Rice: ""I'm already seeing football in a completely different way. You think you know football growing up and when you play, but when you meet managers like Mikel (Arteta), you realise you don't really know anything."""

"IT'S VERY SIMPLE""¶. For what we've laid out in transfers alone we should at least be playing a relatively high percentage of possession football. Maybe not against those clubs that have spent mega but better than those below us if we are supposedly aiming for the top end. Otherwise why is the club investing so well we could just get a load of cloggers like the Crazy Gang was""¶."

"TBF Nevin is well travelled. He rarely stays anywhere too long. He's coached in Brazil, New Zealand, China & the Middle East. While he has also worked for the Premier League, England & Norwich."

"All cannot be well . Nevin at 53 upping sticks from a London club who are in the Europa league for a provincial French club who I believe is not in Europe, open to correction on this . The midnight hour for Moyes approaches ever more swiftly!"

"I would think that the best coaches will not want to join a dinosaur manager on a 12 month contract. Especially one that has had 4 walk out on him in a little over a year""¶"

I assume all coaches contracts are aligned with the manager? Clubs never have a problems sacking them if they want to. That's how I've seen it happen anyway.

Article in C&H by Gonzo saying that Moyes losing coaches means there is a serious problem and he should be the next to go. He rightly says Moyes should not be appointing new coaching staff with only12 months contract left. Getting interesting...

"threesixty, completely agree that there will still be a chance with good organisation for clubs like us and Brighton to take advantage of a Chelsea for example having a bad season and finish in the top 7. Us, Wolves, Leicester, Villa & Southampton have all done this. The difficult part is doing it consistently over a long period and without the big money that's going to be hard to do."
