"apparently the financial terms were perfect for amorim, but the alleged stumbling block (and this is rumour) is he explained that he would have to replace most of the squad to play his style of football. that would have possibly terrified sullivan, especially since it was being put out there that ogbonna was being lined up for another year"

"""Amiron is going tell us on Saturday why the meeting with West Ham went wrong."" Nah. He won't do that. Would be a massive shock if he said anything about us in any detail whatsoever. He'll probably just say something vague about being open to offers for the future but for the rest of the season he's committed to Sporting."
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"cheesebgt how do you know this, though? that's very specific information to know for a story that should be kept very quiet. (unless Sulli is trying to boost ST sales! SWT)"
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"There's a massive waiting list for season tickets, so much so that the club charges fans £10 for just being on it, so to suggest that Sully is using the manager chase to boost sales is ridiculous."
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
Like the sound of this Hoeness bloke. Admittedly of course I had never heard of him until now tho but a bit of a Google and reading some articles he seems a very good fit.

"scott_d 4:29 Thu Apr 25 Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him? Amiron is going tell us on Saturday why the meeting with West Ham went wrong. It's already being implied that the first meeting (with steidten) went well, but the later meeting (with Sullivan) went shit."
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"Fuck me, I don't get why it's so unbelievable that the club would feed fake news for season ticket sales? The conversation comes up every year and we talk about it when Sullivan nearly signs players in the summer when season ticket sales are still open. TALKsport seem to absolutely love Sullivan and Moyes for some reason too. I'm not saying it's all a bit conspiracy, I just don't believe everything I read on Newsnow."

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"I'll be blunt, I don't really know a huge amount about Amorim - and I suspect that applies to the vast majority of football fans. I'm not saying he isn't any good. He's clearly very highly rated and may well be the next Pep for all I know. He certainly has his side playing attacking football. Gut feeling is that he will end up elsewhere. I just want a manager who gets us on the front foot - especially at home - who plays higher up the pitch, and who doesn't purposefully starve his own side of possession. Ball on the floor (most managers do that these days, even Moyes) and let's get fans excited about going to games again. I'd take Kompany or Carrick if they tick those boxes, too. I'm instinctively a bit dubious about Lopetegui - only because a mate saw most of what he did at Wolves and, while stylish, it was sometimes a bit oddbod. He didn't pull up any trees in Madrid and lasted three months. Personally, I'd like to see us appoint Carrick - and then give him some proper time and space to develop the club/team. But that's probably a bit of UK bias. There are many ""pound shop Peps"" to avoid. Including ten Hag when he gets sacked from Man Utd."

"One thing we're going to need is a manager who can instil a completely different philosophy in the players he inherits. Hoeness looks good for this, as the failing Stuttgart club he took over were also a dismal low block counter-attacking team, and he managed to quickly change the style of play as well as the results."

"Eerie Descent 3:54 Thu Apr 25 ""What sort of peanut believes the club have made up a meeting with a manager to sell season tickets"" Ridiculous, isn't it? Something like this always comes up. I don't like Sullivan, but certain people don't half need a pantomime villain in their life. Besides, if someone is stupid enough to chuck £1000's of their money at the club based on gossip, then I'd hope we're clever enough to grab it off them."
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"Hoeness might be a good shout. Pretty mediocre results in his first job at Hoffenheim, but at Stuttgart he joined last season when they were bottom of the league with 8 games to go. Saved them from relegation and now has them 3rd in the table, playing attractive attacking football."

What sort of peanut believes the club have made up a meeting with a manager to sell season tickets. Fucking hell.
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"*It's not a coincidence though, that the season ticket renewal deadline is approaching and we are being linked with one of the hottest young management properties in europe."
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"I'm not buying into the theory that Sullivan has had enough and that he is looking at other managers. Not even convinced we've talked to anyone at this stage, including Amorim. Some will say it's fact, but you can't claim fact without evidence. It's just speculation. It's not a coincidence though, that the season ticket renewal deadline and we are being linked with one of the hottest young management properties in europe. Pretty sure Sullivan's preference will be to keep Moyes and doesn't give a shit what the fans think."

"poor old Ex is a bit redundant these days........... West Ham (C)entral ?üèÜ @WestHam_Central ¬? Follow Manager search update: Amorim ‚Äì very slim chance Lopetegui ‚Äì interest but not clubs first choice Hoeness ‚Äì Tim Steidten keen Fonseca ‚Äì discussions likely soon Slot ‚Äì other clubs appeal more to him Kompany, Silva, O'Neill, Cooper, Carrick, Flick options @ExWHUEmployee"
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"No one has a clue what the plan is and what Steidten has in mind. Even these self appointed ITKs like Ornstein, Steinberg and that bloke who turns up as a transfer expert on Sky and who’s name escapes me. Speculation and fake news ( those stories about Loptegui being spoken with for months). The speculation that Sullivan wants Loptegui is simple to make as he appoints old blokes mainly in the past. The key to our future is Sullivan mind. At 76 will his “small man syndrome” still ensure he meddles or overrules Steidten? If he does Steidten woukd walk hopefully but I am hoping ( it kills us ) he’s ready to let the German make the calls. My speculation ( wild arse guess ) is seeing Jack Sullivan sitting with Steidten at the Palace game. The young Sullivan was asking Steidten for his opinion as the 3rd or 4th went in and the facial expression and body language of Steidten was “I can now get this Moyes geezer out sharpish because this is appalling”. Wild guess but basic body language was revealing Gonna be an interesting next 2 months for sure."

El Scorchio 2:07 Thu Apr 25 I'm happy we didn't sign anyone in January. It gives the new bloke more money in the summer and he doesn't have to deal with a 32 year old player Moyes had brought in.
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
El Scorchio 2:07 Thu Apr 25 Moyes said after we signed Phillips on loan that he was a player that he has been after for three years... just think even Moyes realised how shit he was.

Xavi staying on at Barcelona. That’s another one of the big boys vacancies filled. Maybe getting Amorim to flash his knickers wasn’t a daft idea after all?
