"I still hope we get Duran, from a Villa fan who posted on Kumb At 20 Watkins wasn't anywhere near the talent of Duran. Every time Duran gets minutes for Villa he delivers. His ability is off the scale and like many cocky and confident hugely talented footballers he knows it. For obvious reasons Watkins is keeping Duran on the bench and Duran doesn't like it but he has justification for feeling like that. A 20 year old Watkins was not coming on as a sub in PL games and causing Man City and Liverpool problems they struggled to cope with and nor did he (or ever will he imo) have the finishing ability of Duran. Duran will be a superstar imo, whether that is at Villa, West Ham or somewhere else I do not know but he will be one of the most entertaining and difficult strikers any team will play against"

Mancs behaving like they are still the top team in the Prem. Trying to get one over any other Prem club they deem inferior. Put the price up after we agreed personal terms to include what they owed AWB? Move on to the next option would be Steidtens typical response but AWB is a Salthouse client so Sullivan will be driving this one to keep his “mate” Will happy. Sullivan also keeps his little man ego fed by being involved in a deal

Some very good signings. Hope we can get AWB in although have my doubts. Seems as always with Man U to drag on. A RB/CB with Ings and Zouma moving on would be a very good window.

Hoping he’ll develop his game a la Sheringham Who excuse the cliches Never relied on. His pace Has the first yard in his head And played top level until 35 plus I think See also Glen Murray :)

Was reading an article that looks pure speculation saying that having missed out on Rodriquez to us that Mourinho is interested in SOUCEK for Fenerbache

"I think if we get AWB over the line + a centre half then we are in good shape. Would be nice to have a centre back who doesn't make at least one massive fuck up every game. Guido will help our ability to look after the ball, and going forward we have plenty of options."

Get a grip... Kudus and Bowen are among the best attacking players in the league. Summerville is a very exciting young winger who won player of the season in the championship last year and Fullkrug has just had a great season in Germany and a good Euros for his country. The defence needs sorting out but I'm sure JL is aware and working on it.

and less like David Di Michele who joined us aged 32ish and who's time here was a mixed bag to say the least.

We can only hope that Füllkrug emulates the legendary Antonio Di Natale whose one goal every 2 games average for Udinese came from the age of 31 onwards! Look him up

"So thats why its 3 years If he is doing it at 34 we take the extra year We have dug ourselves holes in the past with contracts taking players to mid 30's .... Noble , Antonio ... so this is a realistic move Understand Rodriquez deal is also 3 years"

"Fauxstralian 12:44 Mon Aug 5 ""Understand its a 3 year contract rather than 5"" It's 3 + 1 year as an option isn't it? I can't imagine he'll be much of an asset for us at 34 years old."

"Forbes rate WHU 16th richest club in World with $1.1bn value and we rent, dont even own our own stadium. Sullivan needs to put his short arms further down those long pockets, spent SFA if you include the Scammaca money which he trousered, taking us all for mugs as per and people are happy with free transfers and older career end injury prone players because they think they can't be any worse than Moyes dross served up over 4 years. We need much more younger quality than what has come in so far and need to get rid of Soucek, Cresswell, Zouma, Ageurd for starters."

"To be honest I'd rather have Duran but not at £42m Or Tammy Abraham at any price Vexed , Put on Tim's scarf and tell us who you would be buying instead of Herr Fullkrug? Understand its a 3 year contract rather than 5"

"maverick180 12:55 Mon Aug 5 So you're justifying the Fullkrug deal by comparing against one of the worst deals we've ever done? Not sure that's a great endorsement. Fullkrug is a decent player no doubt, but never played in a good league, slow and getting slower, old. It's never been more important to get signings right and have the ability to sell a player on for profit since all the financial rules that favour the biggest clubs came into place - then we sign this geezer who is both expensive, risky and as a bonus has zero sell on value if it doesn't work out. So we're basically gambling 25m that a slow old bloke is gonna bring us silverware or Europe. Anything less would be a failure of this transfer. I dont like our odds here. I think it's a shocker of a deal and Tim's a fuckin scarf bothering Toby."
