"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"Btw, the same surgeon who described that dislocation etc., estimated that the minimum amount of time it would take to recover would be 4-6 weeks. But that assumes minimal ligament damage that does not require surgery. If he has to go under the knife, then you're looking at ""several months"", which is season-ending. The bigger issue of all, though, is to ensure that the knee-cap is 100% centred again - or the risk of a repeat injury in future is high. So they may play safe and perform surgery just to ensure the knee is stable over the next few years. If it is misaligned when it heals, then the risk of another dislocation is much higher."

"That's the science. Of course, some people just think it is ""the curse of Madden""!"

"View of a knee surgeon... ""The patella is held in a centralized location by ligament structures on both sides, medially (inside of the knee) and laterally (outside of the knee). In order for the patella to dislocate laterally, which is the direction it always goes, the medial retinaculum and medial patellofemoral ligament have to tear. ""An MRI scan will assess a few things. It can visualize the medial soft tissue and assess the extent of ligament tearing. Also, when the patella dislocates, a specific pattern of bone bruising is visible on the medial side of the femur and the lateral side of the trochlea, which is the groove on the end of the femur where the patella tracks."" So, in short, it won't be a swift return. Sounds like there will have to have been at least some ligament damage and tearing for the knee to have dislocated in the first place. That will need to heal - so Chiefs fans should be hoping that the damage is minimal."

"I must have been tired as was watching live and didnt even realise he'd popped it. As for the game, Broncos are obviously a bit shit currently, but the best I've seen Kansas defend for yonks. Flacco was getting smashed all over the place and fumbling for fun."

I dislocated my knee 20 months ago. Took me a few months to get back to being right. Although I'm guessing his physio will be slightly more intense than my once a week visit to the gorgeous therapist I had. You also have to get over the thought of happening again mentally.

"He'll be having a scan today but assuming there's no ligament damage he'll only miss a few weeks i'd imagine. It is crazy how fast these guys come back, regularly see players break their legs and the timeline for return is 6-8 weeks or something absurd like that."

"Mahomes dislocated his knee last night, though no idea how long an injury that is. Seemed to be walking ok after they popped it back in, though they are generally tough bastards in the NFL."

"Miike I don't think it was as much a case of not rating him as much as not liking him. Bradshaw remembering when Elway refused to play for the Colts who drafted him and threatened to play baseball instead. ""All I remember was, well wait a minute. The worst team gets the best player. That's the greatest compliment in the world. Why wouldn't you go to Baltimore? I went to Pittsburgh. Do you think a Louisiana boy wants to go to (expletive) Pittsburgh? I would have rather gone in the fifth round and gone to the Saints or some place down home. But you know what? I saddled up and went.""ù Elway is probably smarter but Bradshaw has done okay with what he got. Give him three more rings like Bradshaw and I would make Brees the greatest ever (no bias) but he would need Bradshaw's defence to do that."

"The talk of interview and quarterbacks reminds me of one with Terry Bradshaw. Before my time but saw it somewhere. Nice reporter says: ""You have started a bit slow this season. What might be the reason for that?"" Bradshaw: ""The alcohol mostly."" Unlike the one Sherman, it stops the reporter in his tracks"

"I love the way that Sherman interview ends with the reporter... ""Well...and, Joe, back over to you..."" She just left Sherman's words hanging, as he had the final word in the game. Actually a decent ""leave"" by the reporter. There was nothing else that needed to be said at that point, so she didn't say anything else. Fair play to her."

My Dad always tells me that Marion is the best of all time but he hasnt really followed the sport for years. Hard to argue that he may well be up there with the most talented but not sure he can be in the discussion having never won a superbowl
