NFL (since 2016)

"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"Crystal, Exactly. I don't mean to sound like a killjoy, but you just know that the likes of Belichick, Tomlin and Reid - grizzled coaches - are watching game footage of the Ravens and planning how to take Jackson down a blind alley in which he gets full-on nailed by some hard-ass linebacker. I love watching scrambling QBs. But consistently successful ones have been few and far between in the NFL - often because they get nailed and injuries follow (Griffin III etc) or they get worked out (Kaepernick etc). Vick was probably an exception. So Ravens fans will be hoping he follows that line, possibly without the dog-fighting. Jackson has been a revelation, though, it must be said. I'm enjoying every game he plays at the moment."

Bit of good fortune for the Ravens too - they've had their first choice O line all season. Might struggle if some of them get injured

Think this will be the Raven's best chance at a superbowl for the future as eventually defensive coordinators will figure out how to slow them down the more tape they get on them. While it's still new they may be able to take the league by storm and win a title but not sure how viable it is in the long run.

Only the Seahawks and Saints look even close in the NFC. And you never count out the Emperor and Darth Brady of New England. But it does look like a changing of the guard.

"I believe that's what they call a proper beating handed out to the Rams. Jackson was on fire again. He is in amazing form. The only concern for the Ravens must be that they may have peaked too soon - which is a nice ""problem"" to have."

"Bit of a bizarre stat line only 169 passing yards but 5 passing touchdowns, like they just run it down into the redzone and then let him chuck a TD pass, not that im complaining as he put up another 36 points for me in Fantasy"

"And not to annoy my pal Burnsy, but you have to throw in that the Rams were pretty pathetic on both sides of the ball which made the Ravens look better. They doubled up on Donald which made him ineffective and then hardly used Gurley. Problem then is relying on Goff's arm and he isnt a good QB. Fella must be laughing every day at his 110 mil guaranteed wages. Proper test for the Ravens next up."

"Ravens worrying, going by those highlights. Mark Ingram can be annoying, when not on your team."

I dont mind the Niners as they have Jimmy G and i am a big fan of Kittle on and off the field. Could do with them doing the pats a favour next week and beating the Ravens to give the Pats a little wiggle room for the number 1 seed

"I'm no fan of the niners (or indeed any Californian team), but that defence of theirs does look good. Swarming. I could see a current Niners/Patsies game being an old skool grind game from the 1950s ending 9-3 to somebody!"

"Crystal - I know, that's my real concern now! Naturally, I want the Jets to win every game. But Gase is a disaster. Still, if Williams and Darnold end up dragging us forward despite the idiot, then I'll take it. They should have cut him after that ludicrous defeat to Miami, and appointed Williams as the interim with a view to giving him the job permanently. From what I read, Williams is running the locker room now anyway."

"Got some very easy games coming up on the schedule now too, could easily end up 7-9 or 8-8 on the back of a long winning streak and that will ensure that gase stays for another year!"

"Basically, Gase is now just an expensive passenger in New York. Gregg Williams is running the defense and locker room. Sam Darnold is increasingly in charge of his own offense. It seems to be working."

"Darnold's Jets bashed the Raiders about, move to 4-7. Second straight 400+ yard game for the offense. Now that he has fully recovered from mono, the kid is moving the ball despite Gase's idiocy. He could be one heck of a QB with the right coach. I read that after the Miami defeat, Darnold - who is currently the same age as most rookies (he entered the NFL a year before most) - approached Gase and asked for some offennsive changes. A rookie-age kid is running the Jets offense right now. And he's doing a better job than his head coach."

"Real test is next week. Rodgers is brilliant, but he's always had a crap offensive line in front of him and so against a quality D like ours, he's always in the shit. Just once to play well again, as although we should have won the 3 games prior to it, we hadnt been playing well. Kittle is a future hall of Famer though and had been a massive miss while injured."

"Niners blow out Green Bay 10-1. Total domination from start to finish. Rodgers had a nightmare. 10-1. Saints barely won, Niners are getting healthy, Kittle is finally back k and tearing it up. Ravens next, gonna be tough on the road especially an early game too. We will still win. 11-1. Rams lose tomorrow night season over."
