"Oppenheimer - as cinema, pretty dull, surprisingly. I’m sure the enormous book it’s based on is well-researched and detailed and the adaptation faithful and all that, but as a film, I don’t think it will be in my top 10 of 2023."

"Watched Eagle Eye on prime. It's a 2008 film with Shia Labeouf, but it seems more like a black mirror episode due to it's AI storyline. Surprisingly decent now, as I'd have put it down as a typical ridiculous action movie at the time."

Maneul I thought it was slightly less gimmicky than previous MI movies. A lot of hand to hand stuff. The fight scenes in Venice in particular were good.

"I've seen it and enjoyed it overall, but it's long. Some good characters in it but thought the never ending stunts and dramatic escapes started to become a little tedious and just for the sake of it, but it's OK if you're a 12 year old watching it. Yea, she is a bit of a weapon, doubt the oddball Cruise would have been interested though."

"Two parents took their young daughter to a hospital in Florida. The hospital accused them of abuse and, despite the daughter's denials, took her from them. Their horrifying ordeal is explored in the new Netflix documentary ""Take Care of Maya"" Watched the above last night and it's not often a documentary can leave you so angry and lost for words. Sickening that stuff like this can happen."

Ditto the Sicario border scene. There is a shot out scene in True Detective 2 on a par. Extraction 2 was excellent. The prison to train wreck action scene must be one to the longest in cinema histoiry.

"On Paramount+ I think I stumbled onto an old 90's favourite that I hadn't remembered. If you like old 90's serial killer thrillers Jennifer 8 is worth a watch albeit dated a tad. Andy Garcia, Lance Henriksen and the lovely Uma Thurman star. Tempted now to go and dig out Jeff Bridges in Jagged Edge!"
