Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.

Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

If we can get £60m for Paqueta from any club (including Spurs) in time to get a replacement, we should do it. But I suspect we won't and he will go in January for peanuts

All we need now is a manager to show them which direction the opposition goal is.

If Magassa joins will the club be doing red caps with MAGA on the front in the club shop?

Still think Paqueta needs competition as he still tends to make too many mistakes despite his flashes of brilliance.
He'll get plenty of that at Spurs

Diouf and KWP.

Also, shipping out wasters such as Kudus and Alvarez.

I doubt Sullivan even knows who he is.

I'm sure the same was said by Brighton fans when they signed Caicedo, MacAllister, Cucurella, Baleba, Bissouma etc etc

Sometimes you just have to go for it.
Yes we do. I’m all for moves like this. It’s exactly the sort of player we should be going in for. Ideally we are spotting them a year or two sooner and spending less but this is a good positive move if it comes off.

Hopefully this gets done but we still need two more midfielders
Plus a centre half
And a striker under 33
Chop chop!

Who knows if he is good but is young & a bit of a unit who presumably can get around the pitch

Here's his STATS: https://fbref.com/en/players/dfc5d4fa/S ... ou-Magassa

Compare that to:

Alvarez: https://fbref.com/en/players/8b3ab7ad/Edson-Alvarez
JWP: https://fbref.com/en/players/3515d404/James-Ward-Prowse
Soucek: https://fbref.com/en/players/6613c819/Tomas-Soucek
Potts: https://fbref.com/en/players/86bf27f0/Freddie-Potts

He's seemingly an upgrade at 6 on all of the above.  I'd suggest Sangare looks better than he does, so getting both would be useful.

Hopefully they will watch him and realise you are allowed to jump when defending corners and tackles are permitted.

Talk that we're trying to get Ibrahim Sangare on loan with an option from Forest now too....someone we were pretty keen on previously.

No idea how he's done at Forest since he's been there, but don't think he's ever truly forced his way into their first choice XI.

Looking at his STATS looks a very similar player to Mougassa...all be it actually better in the passing stakes (but 27 so with a lower ceiling).

The two of them sure us up at defensive midfield...but we'd still need a ball carrier from midfield like Makau or Fernandes, to complement one of Sangare or Mougassa, and Paqueta.

A midfield of:

Paqueta - Sangare/Mougassa - Fernandes/Makau

Would start to at least look potentially functional.

Would also probably mean we could play a double pivot of:

Sangare - Mougassa and go 3-4-3 instead of 3-5-2.

None of this of course changes the fact that we'll be playing crab football, with Potter at the wheel....but maybe it will be enough to help us survive.
