"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"[Nips back into dark house, writes note to Adam Gase....] ""Dear Adam. Thank you for your single year of service to the New York Jets. It was such a shame that a record of 1-15 meant you were just squeezed out of the play-offs. But look on the bright side - you won't have to spend the remainder watching draft tape of the Fighting Irish. All the best when you get to the Canadian Football League. Southbank. PS - could you take your name off the office door? Ta."""

"Sounds like Darnold may be out a bit longer than expected ""My Spleen is gonna do what it's gonna do"" is the quote from him i believe, as this Mono infection greatly swells the spleen due to infection there's a real danger of it rupturing if he plays and takes a bad hit in the wrong spot so should definitely not be rushed back."
4800 touchdowns.

"TM - spot on. Good player, Herndon. Had a really solid year last season. Need to make sure Darnold is back, though. Should know more about his heath by Wednesday."

"The talking heads are full of shit. Best not to take it in. Saying he was only drafted because he's black is stupid. There's far too much money at stake for the teams to be concerned about that over performance. Definitely he would have been drafted on his talent and anyone saying otherwise is just providing clickbait. Ironicially, the Giants got called racist in the media for NOT drafting Haskins as opposed to Jones. I think you just have to hope he has the temperment to play the long game and stay focused in a team that needs rebuilding. You also have to hope that the management are able to do that, and also have his best interests at heart. At least the fans will get behind him and want him to succeed."

"nothing to do with his play last night. for some reason a few have it in for the kid, one particular youtube can channel posting shit last week about a still photo of him looking a bit bored on the bench during the bears vame, another channel saying he was only drafted because he's black and the owner was virtue signalling. brady would struggle playing behind our line and for these coaches. I've never known the hatred be so bad for an owner/gm, and that's where these roles should be forgetting their anger"

"Scorch - I know exactly what you mean. But as TM will tell you, young Haskins is the very least of the Skins worries/problems at the moment. He needs a year or two to learn the ropes alongside a good, communicative veteran QB and coach. But it'll be hard for Haskins to do that in the current environment at Washington. He isn't quite ready for pro-style offences yet, but has obvious talent. The problem is, that must be the worst environment to be in if you want to develop. The Skins are more of a mess than the Jets - and that is saying something!"

"Really unfair to judge Haskins on yesterday, (and obviously he's got a lot of learning to do with his relative lack of experience, especially in running a pro style offense) he clearly needs to be given enough time to establish himself, but if were I a Skins fan, i might be a little concerned with some of the stories and rumours I've read about his general attitude and demeanor."

"I watched the Bills/Patsies. Decent game, dominated by defence. Classic Belichick - finds a way to win even when the team isn't firing. Btw, I've started a campaign to get this unbeaten fella at the Jets, ""Bye"", a role on Gase's coaching staff. He seems like a significant upgrade on Gase."

"you haven't missed much. good win that, against a cowboys team who would have turned up thinking they'd roll you over, I loved the result weird minority of cunts in the redskins fan base already turning on haskins"

"Real tough slog that for the Pats yesterday, but that's probably the best defence they're going to face all season unless they see the bears int he superbowl. Defence and special teams do enough to bail them out when the offence isnt clicking, another 4 interceptions and a blocked punt touchdown."

No touchdown win against the (insert female Western nickname here) These are not your voodoo daddy's Saints. Stuffed Elliot and still missing the most important piece of the run defence. Lots of pressure against a great On-line and getting the key turnovers from '09. Lack Brees to keep 'em humble could be good year.
