"He always irritated me and it was always clear to me that he'd always leave when the 'next step' was available to him. So I'm don't feel jilted like some seem to - I never saw him as ""one of us"" whilst some other fans seemed to think he'd be like Noble which was never going to happen in a million years. Sitting in the stand in Prague watching him do that ""orchestra conductor"" motion with his fingers as we sang ""1 more year, one more year Declan Rice"" when 100% he knew he was going to move really made me think less of him. He'd been doing that reaction to the chant for a few weeks. He loves being loved which I understand but to me it felt like taking the piss doing that when he knew he was going to leave. I won't boo him but I won't clap him. In the unlikely event he does play I hope that he gets stick once the match starts."

"Pents - Yea fair enough, my comment on reflection was a bit hasty, I'd not been up long, lol. But believe me I totally understand the culture at West Ham mate, even if I don't go anymore, due to distance. The Rice debate is a strange one, some, like yourself, despise him, fair enough, while some feel he has done nothing wrong? With many don't give a monkies about the hyper cսnt either way. As said, he may not play anyway, and if he does I feel that he will receive an ''OK'' reception, it certainly won't be anything vicious. Also in that place any type of reaction wouldn't be relayed the same as if we were still at the Boleyn, for example."

"""He should get the same reception that was given to Ince and Defoe"" fucking hell Brundal that's a bit extreme! When you think of the reception Tevez got, for playing what 10 odd games for us and fucked off for the money, no loyalty or history with the club. You sound like a jilted lover..........bwahahahaaha that or your on a wind up mission?"

I doubt he’ll play anyway. Up to the individual what they wanna do but for me I couldn’t care less about him now. Can’t 60k people perform a massive shrug of the shoulders?

"Any Old Iron 1:34 Thu Sep 28 Actually it worked pretty well with FLJ, he never played well against us. He scored some goals, but that was what he did. It affected him, unlike Ince."

"Clapping him and welcoming him back would be fucking embarrassing, booing him likewise. He’s had his chance of adoration and being a hero for us, didn’t want to know. Hopefully we take the game fucking seriously and smash his fucking dreams to bits. 12 behind the ball it is then."

"Manuel no offence but that comment is from soemone who doesn't go. Of course it seems irrelevant and silly to a person ho watches west ham from afar on TV but to those who go and get into the atmosphere and feeling of the game, these things sadly are relevant. It will annoy me sitting there watching or hearing people clap and say welcome back to a Arsenal badge kisser, like he did with Ireland, after blatantly discussing a move with arteta and his general comments since leaving about being at a proper club now."

He’s a Gooner now… Mild welcome applause… Then just like any Arsenal player…with Pantomime booing if appropriate… Normal opponent hassling…

Il act with complete indifference to him . As will 95% of our supporters. A quick look at kumb forum will show you the fans that will treat him like the return of the prodigal son . How they can even claim to be WHUFC is beyond me .

Serious question. We’ve clapped previous players before right? So why would it be any different with Rice? In particular because he always carried himself professionally and lifted our first major trophy in 4 decades? Arsenal paid massive money for him. Sullivan was pimping him the day after the final.

There are better carbs

Potatoes and pasta are better than Rice Bread and pizza are too And cous-cous is twice as nice Even on his own territory Arborio makes great risotto And Declan is beaten by basmati I produce better doggerel than any canine alive

"No need to boo him, but anyone clapping an opposition player especially “Mr I play the media” needs a good look at themselves. He’s an Arsenal player now and is nothing to do with our club."
