"Remembrance day, WTF!"
"As a proud Englishman living abroad im shocked at some of the reports coming out of the UK. 2000 Police in and around Central London to stop any trouble, 24-hour guard on the Cenotaph to protect it from attack. Veterans told DON'T wear medals, military berets etc on the way to Remembrance services across the UK. Poppy sellers attacked; War memorials vandalized. This stuff is unbelievable, WTF is going on! UK,Dogs etc"
"Re: Remembrance day, WTF!"
"Stewie Yes, I am a Niner fan. No, I live in Southern California, in Irange county, a place called a mission Viejo. We don’t have the problems they have in San Fran or Los Angeles. Here we are all quite civilized and act that way. However you are right about San Fran the far left Gov’t have ruined what was once a beautiful city. That doesn’t detract from the fact that your kids and grandkids and my nieces, nephews and cousins children are going to have a mess to deal with. Their lives are going to be miserable in comparison to yours. Unless of course you are a muslim. I will add, I’ll take San Fran over London currently every day of the week. What a crying shame how the English culture is being eradicated one city at a time. And what an unbelievable embarrassment and complete abandonment of duty to the British kids that have been and will continue to be abused by all this. It really is shameful."

"You support the 9ers, right? Do you live in San Francisco? I’d be far more worried about what’s happening there than here. Used to be one the best cities in America. Now an absolute hellhole with no redeeming features whatsoever."
"Re: Remembrance day, WTF!"
"Ray Winston’s 10:56 I agree with you! My comment regarding uprising was made tongue in cheek. Truth is the expansion of Islam will continue and gradually they will take over. Only a matter of time. May not happen in our life time but your kids and grandkids will live under a real threat from this oppressive cult. Pat yourself son the back, you’re the first generation that will leave your kids a much shittier way of life than the one you had. Well done there!"

"The respect for the fallen doesn't just disappear when it's not Armistice Day or Remembrance Sunday - it's part of the British identity and it flows through every true British subject born and raised here into adulthood since the end of the Second World War. It matters not that both days fell, this year, in the same weekend - the insult is against that collective memory, which is accorded a few dedicated hours of contemplative reflection in (hopefully) everybody's hearts, every year. The ""cause"" of Hamas...sorry...the Palestinians in Gaza (but not the Israeli victims of the Hamas attack, apparently) would have garnered far more support had they stood back and not held their protest march last weekend."

If you had been at the march on saturday as I was you would have seen it was about 90% Jew hating muslims asking for a free palestine. It has fuck all to do with British values.
"Re: Remembrance day, WTF!"
The people marching in protest at the excessive actions of the IDF in Gaza have gathered on more or less every Saturday since October seventh. This year the eleventh of November also fell on a Saturday hence the problem of a clash of interests. If the Armastice day had been mid week there would have been muc less of an issue. Let’s see what happens next Saturday in London.

"zebthecat 12:07 Mon Nov 13 ""Only one protest last weeked came specifically for a fight"". Take a step back a bit. The weekend just gone is about as close as this country has to a sacred event in the modern world. Its a hard sell that the organisers of the Palestine protest wouldn't have known that, or known that it would wind a lot of people up in itself. After what happened to war memorials during the BLM protests, the chance of it happening again wasn't off the table. Like it or not BLM, Palestine, Antifa etc all share common branding and similar following, and there are people who attach themselves to these protests to push their own agendas. This is England. We're English. Do you honestly expect, in the context of all the above, that there WOULDN'T be people on the street in case they had a pop? Also: the fact that the Palestine protest descended into chucking things at police, wearing Hamas headbands, and attacking people they suspected of being at the counter-protest shows that the risk was real your assertion that ""only one protest"" was there for trouble is absolute rubbish."

I would say the Conservatives are desperately trying to position themselves as centrist again as in a year's time they will probably be annihilated. The country is far too radicalised to want centrism again.

"Whatever she did as Home Secretary is now bygones. From today on, she can focus her mind on finding her niche in the entertainment industry, preferably one where her clients pay her directly for hearing her say what they think. Make a honest person out of herself and all that."

"""And I wonder how the new Home Secretary will cope with the Braverman inspired move to turn part of his constituency into an immigrant concentration camp. "" He'll probably work that little bit harder at stopping them coming in the first place. A root cause solution for a root cause problem. I'll leave it with YOU to come up with suggestions as to how he can achieve that goal - nothing off the table."
"Re: Remembrance day, WTF!"
Sunak is attempting to prevent the conservatives returning to their default position as the nasty party. And I wonder how the new Home Secretary will cope with the Braverman inspired move to turn part of his constituency into an immigrant concentration camp.

"How can Brexit be classed as a ""disaster"" when the man that called the referendum has inherited a role with responsibility for relations with 27 more nation states than existed when he was Prime Minister?"
"Re: Remembrance day, WTF!"

"Seems she went against orders, published her own original text and ignored the revisions of the PM’s office. Damn silly way of going about things unless of course one was interested in a direct confrontation with the PM and was trying to split the party."

"Percy Dalton 12:35 Mon Nov 13 Re: Remembrance day, WTF! just ignore them, and they'll eventually go away. There's obviously a large-ish number of people who genuinely feel aggrieved and want to march. So be it. The rest is just rent-a-mob, who turn up to protest about anything & everything. This time last year, many of the same people were protesting and complaining, spewing their Islamophobic bile all over our streets while whining about the World Cup in Qatar and that country's human rights record. They're now on the streets protesting for the rights to freedom of a far less civilised and more barbaric group, while spewing their anti-semitic hatred everywhere. Hate-filled idiots to a man, best ignored, and they'll move on to something else soon enough."

One point I'd like to make is the pro Palestinian marches seem to be getting larger each week when do we actually say enough is enough you've made your point and now we want joe public to visit London without fear of being harassed and jostled because they maybe white. Christ knows what that does to the economy and tourists that just want to visit London

Calling me thick is not the kind of argument that would bring you any satisfaction when it comes to keeping the useless hag in her job. Oh and yes of course you are frustrated and angry - and totally useless as well.

"Re: Remembrance day, WTF!"
"zebthecat 12:07 Mon Nov 13 Re: Remembrance day, WTF! Mike Oxsaw 12:01 Mon Nov 13 Wrong. Only one protest last weeked came specifically for a fight. Trying to violently gatecrash the cenotaph wreath laying on Saturday was thoughtless, embarrassing and an affront to those who wanted to rememder the fallen. Deliberately pick a fight with the police and you get arrested. i'm trying to agree with the general sentiment - but the post is fraught with issues. It generalises that ALL who attended the counter protest were there for a fight. It's as crass, stupid & lazy as saying that all who attended the pro-Palestine marches are islamic terrorists and/or anti semites. and the last sentence is, sadly, wholly inaccurate. It SHOULD, 100% be the case. And its exactly the point that Braverman was (badly) making. The challenge - which if we choose to ignore it, makes us wilfully ignorant - is that certain groups in society can actively pick a fight with police and not get arrested, and others can't. For example, if anyone on this forum suggests that football supporters are policed in the same way that other large gatherings of people are policed, then they are either a liar or have never been to a football match."
