For course the Everton press department are coming out with that BS. Meanwhile. The Everton Board room must be laughing their cocks off. (What a season to get a 10 points deduction.) They must feel like they have won the Euro Lottery.!

"Everton statement says ""wholly disproportionate and unjust"" ruling."" They are extremely lucky that the wheels of justice turned very slowly for them. If the hearing delivered its results shortly after the season end, in time for this season's fixtures, for example, a mere 3 point deduction would have relegated them, last season The charges, relate to 3 seasons ending 2021/22. FFP is a rolling 3 year average, so will they be charged again, if the 3 years to 2022/23 are in breach of the rules? Or do they reset at the end of 2021/22, like accumulated yellow cards, which haven't led to a ban, get wiped off at some stage in the season?"

Does feel like the punishment is enough to look like the league are being tough but not too bad that it will relegate them. Im guessing with the construction of their new stadium a relegation could well send them to the wall as a club and the PL dont want that blood on their hands so have played this just right.

They've been close to relegation for a number of years. You can only circle the drain so many times before you go down.

"Vexed 2:38 Agree. Convenient that it's happened this season rather than last, safe in the knowledge that it's a harsh punishment but also very unlikely to relegate them. They are 'fortunate' this season has basically the shittest bottom three in PL history."

"10points is a let off considering they escaped relegation twice, but we got off with a fine so we were lucky also"

I think a couple of clubs particularly Leicester will want to do a Sheffield Utd on them and get some compensation for being relegated in their place 10pts for losses over a 3 year period (& losses in 5 consecutive seasons) is ludicrous. Should start as a 30 point minimum

Will the Premier league have the same balls to dish out the deserved punishment to both Man City and Chelsea who have clearly been in breach for donkeys years. I think we all know the answer to that!

They still haven't fined or docked our footballing Royalty who are the 'Top 5' for recklessly trying to leave the PL single handedly and bringing the game into disrepute. Two standards of Justice. Everton might be ok. They are going well this season and there are at least 3 clubs worse off even with a 10 point head start.

Everton are a nice sort of club except full of scousers. I hope that this signals Chelsea and Man City’s fate….
