This is NOT pulling up the drawbridge (it's actually strengthening it), and neither is it suggesting that any immigrants already here should be asked to leave. How more likely it is that uncontrolled immigration produces another Bradford than another Braverman?"

Saw a stat recently that showed when it comes to what you regard as state handouts we were at tbe bottom.of the pile behind even Turkey and the US...Italy was top but Italy do.get many many more asylums seekers than us.
