"My expectation is to look forward, be positive and not big up a fucking 0-0 draw at home to an injury ravaged Brighton. Do that and the results will take care.of themselves. Our manager thinks he's managing the same West Ham that he used to turn over with Everton year in, year out"

"Capitol - What, like Burnley away? Palace at home? Fulham away? Sheffield Utd at home? Everton at home? All counter attacking entertainment in those off the top of my head ! We’ve ground out a good points total, that is clear, but my argument to that would be that gives you the freedom to have a go at these fixtures, and see how good it could be, rather than see a point against Brighton as success"

Capitol man. I'm not expecting world class brazil 70 style.football.and winning the league. I just want it so that when we play games like tonight against a weakened team we actually attempt to attack occasionally rather than just sit back. Movement off the ball and being able to pass 5 fucking yards. But mostly the actually attempting to attack occasionally thing

"Capitol Man 1:40 Wed Jan 3 Why are you so focused on history? This is a different club now. That's why we were moved away from our spiritual home to the soulless bowl, remember?* That was the quid pro quo * you might not remember as you dont go and live on a different continent"

"Ron eff. Agree completely. Also theres no ""moyes out"" as I'd suggest that everyone on top of everyone being too bored to do anything, most of the people around me think part ways at end of the season. The apathy of course was for the ones that bothered turning up. Lots of empty seats which I'd attribute to the predictably shit game,.on top of the shit weather and rail disruption."

"Some of you definitely appear to have imposter syndrome. We have the second biggest attendances in the country and budgets the like of which Brighton can only dream of. Things *should* be different now. It's nothing to do with entitlement We have 2 points less than at the same point 3 years ago, simce which time we've spent hundreds of millions, yet according to Northern Sold and Talksport, Moyes is a contender for Manager of the Year"

"Ron Eff 1:40 Wed Jan 3 Re: ‚ö? West Ham v Brighton - Official Match Thread - Preview Not at all - and if it happened all the time then I‚Äôd be joining the lot with the pitchforks and torches. But generally it[s not been like that this year - we[ve just played counter-attacking football rather than a possession game. It we never had shot games we‚Äôd be at the very top of the league and not fighting for sixth. There have always been shot games, even in good seasons."

"Could have sworn we just took seven points out of mine over Christmas against top-half sides. The great manager at Brighton got one point from us this season, we got 4 - every game isn’t going to go well - but the previous three did. But we weren’t that great in the second half without two of the best players in the league missing. Did anyone come up with any examples of periods where we’ve played great football and got results on a sustained basis? 86 maybe? We were 15th,16th then relegated in19th after that. Otherwise it seems to be just picking the side playing well at the moment and bleating about why can’t we be like them? Lard made a decent post earlier about Sullivan holding on to Moyes until the club is sold, which is exactly what wil happen."

"Is it entitlement to want to try and win a home game against Brighton and Hove Albion? It wasn’t two tired sides either, they were fine and would have won comfortably if it weren’t for Areola. Nobody expects the Galacticos, and everyone is pleased with recent results even though we’ve played a negative style, but it would be nice to try and win games or dominate games against our actual peers or below. That’s not entitlement, and certainly not after spending £500m."

Ron... when I saw our line up I thought this could get messy... as did many others on here who were the vast majority saying that's us fucked today... yeah it was pretty shit on the whole but for me we stuck at it and ground out a point.... and yeah that's 4 points more than a lot of teams will get off them this season... and yeah agree re end of season... if he walks or is pushed then fair enough but nothing until then will change unless he has a roader episode... just think over all we are in a fucking decent place... yeah next few weeks could be tricky and a few more battling performances like tonight might be on the cards.

"The self entitlement of some on here is staggering. Okay, it was a terrible game with two tired, injury ravaged sides, I give you that. But look at our history? 7 seasons out of ten we either flirted with relegation or got relegated. The football was often dire, with huffers and puffers like Dowie, Chapman or Small up front. Many talk as if we used to play like Brazil, but the fact is, other than the odd season where we had a Payet or a Di Canio up for the game, we've struggled with a team full of journeymen. When we did have a team full of skillful players, as in Cole, Carrick etc, we went down! If we could play (and win) every week like the Harlem Globetrotters I'd be as delighted as all of you, but that's never going to happen. As managers go, Moyes is dour and boring, but personally I'm enjoying looking at the top of the table rather than worrying how many more points we need for safety."

"Why does it have to be such extremes? You can prefer that we shake hands and go separate ways at the end of the season, as I do, without having to want a Moyes out agenda in the stadium. You can also criticise where appropriate, and praise when right to do so, as I did vs Arsenal. It doesn’t have to be completely black or white. He got it wrong tonight because of his default negative approach. If he picked and chose his approach based on opposition, I don’t think he’d have any critics if we played backs against he wall here and there, but a depleted Brighton at home? No."

"When you try to win games with positive football, you can even get useless old cunts like welbeck, Miller and lallana looking decent. Their team was decimated yet they still tried to win it. Playing in the hope of a 0-0 against a team below you in the league who you've already beaten this season is a bit sad really, but not unexpected from a moyes team as that's his general remit in all games. Respect the point."

"So Ron.... what exactly are you ""ambitious"" fans actually doing to let the club know about how unambitious we are?? I've not heard and seen anything?? Protests?? Petitions?? Blockading the chairmans driveway??? Or is it just the occasional hurumph and moan on social media??"

Rightsock.... yup you are spot on from my armchair everything seems pretty rosey.... so maybe you match goers perhaps to need to let your feelings known over there... you know a few Moyes Out banners and petitions etc... might get somewhere rather than fucking moaning on here .... was you around for the bond scheme?? Just wondering like....

"@ Sold - the ambition of our fans for a start. That was Brighton, not Man City. Brighton without Mitoma, March, Adingra, Fati and Encisco which I would suggest at least evens out us missing Kudus and Paqueta. Then I guess the response is they still had Pedro, Buonanotte, Welbeck, Gross, Ferguson available, so back to the question of what needs to change? Recruitment of forwards if we think that Brighton have an embarrassment of riches compared to us, and if they don’t, then approach needs to change. To treat that Brighton team at he like we were up against world beaters is pathetic really."

"Just got back. That was an excellent, battling defensive display and given we were without our two most creative players we must respect the hard earned point. Credit to Areola. Great display and he kept them at bay at times. Ogbonna and Mavrapanos put in another excellent display as a central defensive partnership. That's four clean sheets on a row in the league for us now since the 5-0 thrashing at Fulham. That has to be a record for us in the Premier League. Credit to Moyes for turning things round and making us far more solid defensively."
