"I only saw the last 20 minutes. Even though Everton were creating the better chances, it was end to end and we were doing our bit too. Areola was stopping everything and Alverez was immense. We rode our luck but also played some decent football. I can’t comment on the previous 70 minutes though."

"Funny old game indeed. We were a bit open but at least we had a bit of a go and it wasn't 10 men behind the ball for 90 minutes. Still think we need to solve the Kudus, Paqueta, Bowen conundrum. As well as he does Bowen isn't a long term striker and yet his best position is occupied by Kudus. Paqueta is wasted wide left but who else do you put there? Must say I didn't know Alvarez had the skills, touch or finishing, got more than a defensive midfielder there I think."

"The classic see the result and think all is good game. Take the win of course, but its another game where you say thank fuck we have a good goalkeeper, which is a necessity given how we set up. On another day we’re three down and out of it. Areola rapidly becoming a HOTY contender. It’s not a coincidence he is in the running for save of the week nearly every week."

No we weren’t you fucking retard. Jesus we win 3-1 away at one of our bogey sides and still the knicker wetters aren’t happy. The last time they had a smile on their face is when we lost to Forest. Strange bunch

"I did enjoy seeing on the bcc website an old fashioned smash and grab......it somehow looks just as good in text! Onsideman, just be consoled that the muppet has had to wait MONTHS if not over a season to say that......."

£30 on WH 1-3. Cashed out the £840 28-1. Buzzin. Not a great performance mostly. Midfield wide open and they cut across us all game. Smash and grab for sure. Great boost for the players ahead of Thursday. COYI.

"‚ÄúFunny ol game‚Äù as Greavsie used to say ?ü§? Areola and Alvarez the pick of the bunch and got to say Soucek ( who I still think has to be replaced long term ) had a very decent 2nd half with a cracking goal, crucal tackles and off the line clearance to keep us in it. But Areola turned a defeat into a win really. Scoreboard fans will say we have turned the corner but a bit like at Arsenal and Spurs and a couple of other games this season, we did a smash and grab. Moyes always eeks out results when he needs them and to his credit he got the selection and subs right for once. JWP is becoming more in invisible than Soucek was until the last 2 games but his corner was critical to getting us back into it and ultimately winning the game. Kudus unlucky not to get one. He‚Äôs a real handful and great cross for Souceks goal. Alvarez a rock. Mavropanos caught out positionally for their goal although it was a great ball in by Garner to be fair. Still need 4 or 5 new players and ultimately we have to hope the German ‚Äúpearl diver‚Äù keeps up his good work. Pace and strength in midfield missing today but nice to smash and grab a win in injury time Hopefully this builds momentum for the upcoming Europa games"

Great result. Tough afternoon with Areola saving us a couple of times. Two good wins leading into the Europa League game. We're looking like our old selves again.

A West Ham win and Soucek goal! The anti West Ham crowd on here need to keep away from any sharp objects tonight. Console yourselves by pretending Everton are a poor team so the victory doesn't count and that Soucek's goal was a lucky miss hit.

"Awful first half but a good contest in the second. Bit of a smash and grab win but both late goals were absolutely superb. Areola was our MotM though. Fantastic performance that kept us in it. Vital win, with a couple of other results good news for us too. Actually looking forward to the European game now. Where a few weeks ago I’d have been expecting the worst."

"Not a classic performance from us and its hard to say the scoreline reflects the performance. Areola kept us in it and deserves MOM, else they could have been out of sight. Though we were second best in that second half and we laboured to create anything, we eventually took a chance and punished them for not taking theirs Still, a great away win and lets hope we've turned a 2024 corner. On to Burnley with some confidence restored."

It's a funny old game. Areola and Alvarez mom. Moyes produces his Houdini act again.
