West Ham United is delighted to confirm the signing of England midfielder Kalvin Phillips on loan until the end of the 2023/24 season. The 28-year-old joins the Hammers from Manchester City and could make his debut in Thursday’s Premier League fixture with AFC Bournemouth at London Stadium.

If Moyes stays he will not want Downes back as that would prove him wrong. I don't think even Moyes would insist on bringing Phillips in on a permanent deal though... he will go for the combo of Maguire and McTomminay again though.

Mike I guess that depends if Moyes is still here next season. According to reports Nobes and Steidten wanted to only loan Downes out and Moyes wanted him sold. So he will surely come back if Moyes does not renew his contract.

Wouldn't surprise me if Moyes tries to buy Phillips that's just the kind of moronic thing he'll do.

Kaiser Zoso 11:34 Wed Apr 3 Can you honestly see Moyes swallowing his pride and bringing Downes back to play any part in next season's squad? He'll be moved on permanently the moment his loan expires.

"We certainly needed a backup DM for Alvarez, as shown by the fact that in our 9 games without him we've let in a shitload of goals and only been able to beat that Serbian team. What gets in my craw is that we already had a more than adequate backup in Downes. Southampton really miss him when he doesn't play for them as well. Since he's been there, their record with him in the side is W19 D5 L4. Without him it's been W3 D3 L5."

"The opposite of what Lingard did for us on loan. Looking on the bright side, one this cսnt fucks off, we‚Äôve got a better replacement coming back from a loan spell, so no need to shell out on transfers."

We've pretty much got a squad of 14 players now if he's been banished with the rest of the nonentities we have on the bench. What other manager manages their squad in this way?

"Ok, my point had nothing to do with the Kalvin Phillips issue. I don’t allow anyone to abuse my staff, clients, other trades or just some Joe walking down the road. I’m sorry I failed to make myself clearer"

Oh dear.... Good Staff = Professional He's not fit = Unprofessional He's not putting in a shift when played = Unprofessional He then uses abusive sign language when told he's not doing his job and is effectively useless = unprofessional. Abusive customer can make for a better service. And I doubt you'd go anywhere near defending one of your staff who has shown your business to be unprofessional.

He wasn't abused or cunted off. He was criticised for his useless performance.

"I reckon I'd be fucked off quickly as well, like 99% of working people, Mad Dog. If there's any chance he could be sacked for this behaviour, then we should be making a mountain out of a molehill over this and save the club fortunes in money and in lost league points."

"What’s considered place of work? Is getting on the train to your job considered working? When you’re wearing the colours you’re working? If you’re saying you’re representing the club at all times then fair enough. And if your customers/students abused you, they’d be repercussions for them too. Just because you earn a wedge doesn’t mean you can be cunted off by an random after you’ve had a bad day. I personally don’t give a shit about the finger, I think his contract should be ripped up because he’s not doing his job."

"Lee. As a teacher if I swore at a student giving me shit I'd be out of a job. It's called being a professional. Which is what phollips should have been. He doesn't appear to be one on or off the 6 given his demeanor, attitude , effort and bodyshape However multiply my wages by 150x and I'd happily take their shit."

"If anyone's a sensitive soul, it's precious master Phillips. No one swore at him, merely pointed out he has been useless, which is factually correct. A comment like that from a fan who's probably travelled far and paid a lot of money to see him put in yet another horrific performance (if we can call it that). The fan had every right to say it and certainly isn't afforded the luxury of being on 130 bags for the privilege. The disrespect and contempt he had for that fan after his piss poor performances is a fucking piss take. And it beggars belief the manager defends him and the Club say fuck all about it. Disgusting treatment."

"Am I the only one who doesn‚Äôt really think it was that bad? He didn‚Äôt call the fan a cսnt or try to fight him. If someone shouts at you on your way home after a nightmare day at work, sticking your finger up is pretty fucking tame. Some of you are such sensitive souls. As for the signing, I always knew it was a shit move, but I never saw it going like this. In fact, I thought it was a bad deal for us. Anyone that saw he previous start against Scotland could tell he was unfit and well off the pace. Nothing to do with the fact we fucked off Benny and Fornals and didn‚Äôt buy a striker to get him - I presumed it would take him 10-12 games to get back to his best, then he‚Äôd olay well, attract the interest of other clubs and fuck us off. Never saw it going as bad as this. I still think with a preseason and a decent manger he can get back to his Leeds form, but thank fuck we don‚Äôt have an obligation to buy because he‚Äôs never gonna make it here."
