They still hate England more than Argentina The only reason they didnt vote to leave is because they'd have to take on their share of the national debt and stand on their own two feet economically Being supported by London taxpayers suits them

See Svenders spouting more shit......you compare the Euros jocks to their referendum where they voted to stay? The only thing to come out of the Euros was that Scotland found out Argentina is a cսnt to them as well.....

I divide the Great Britain gold medals (England Scotland Wales N Ireland) by 4 so they need to lift their game to catch Ireland & NZ Noone thinks Great Britain is a THING any more Scottish attitudes to England's Euro's progression tells you that

"I always count the Australian medals as an extension of the U.K. medals or other European nations they may have roots back to seeing as that is what their dna will be. So really they win fuck all unless a rare Aborigine person gets backing to do well and wins a medal, then obviously Australia have won a medal. Ignore Svender he hasn't got a single bit of Australian dna so he spouts shit......."

Nah it was just bad luck. Never ever seen it happen before in track cycling watching for over 20 years. If it was just struggling beyond his capabilities he'd simply have not been able to keep up as what always happens and happened countless other times yesterday with other cyclists doing the same.

"No not really. 2020(1) was just a dip after an exceptional generation of track cyclists retired or were at the end of their careers. Things are on the bounce. Would have four cycling golds already were it not for a puncture, that saddle slip and an uncharacteristic mistake from Beth Schreiver. Even Pidcock got shit luck in his race but fortunately is so much better than anyone else he was able to recover 40 seconds to win anyway."

Australia have had a better conversion rate when close to a medal Plus the female swimmers have been outstanding Posted an estimate I had seen of a hope / expectation of 13 to 15 golds & 40 medals in total Currently 18 & 42 so best for a while Any coincidence that British Cycling has declined now that Sir Dave Brailsford has moved on to Man Utd taking his magic bag with him?

Australia have managed to have the exact opposite in terms of golds. Some they were not expecting have just fallen in their laps or they’ve had the benefit of others misfortune.

That’s easy to say in hindsight. There was a decent amount to be optimistic about. In terms of total medals we aren’t going to be far off 65 so it’s going to be fairly standard in that respect but we’ve just completely lucked out in terms of golds this time round as I mentioned below. There have been a hell of a lot of 4th places this time round too.

"Always looked to me that we might struggle with these games. So much bravado bullshit about our competitors. Laura Kenny saying that we will get 8 golds at the velodrome, complete rubbish. Nowhere near as strong in cycling, swimming, boxing and gymnastics as we were in previous games. Predictions of getting around 25 golds and 65 + medals beginning to look stupid."

"Watching from Melbourne, I see a completely different Olympics to the rest of you and have no idea who most of these people are. I do know Sky Brown as I sat up watching the skateboarding until 2am on both nights, having never watched it previously. I have a new sporting hero, and it's a 14yo girl.. I also realised what a shit sport Taekwondo is to watch, but have got into the water polo."

"He‚Äôs just ran the fifth fastest time in history, in an Olympic final. And some other cսnt runs the fourth fastest time in history out of nowhere in the same race. That‚Äôs just brutal, brutal stuff. Sums up the games for us really. This, last night, two swimming golds by .02 of a second, by fractions in the rowing twice, puncture denying us gold in the men‚Äôs time trial, the saddle slip today, robbed of the gold in the shooting. That‚Äôs nine gold medals right there."

I was thinking the same thing El Scorchio after Hudson-Smith was just pipped to the line by the yank in the 400 metres final. We are in serious danger of humiliatingly finishing below France and AustROFLia in the final medal table at this rate.

"Have to agree, the sailing has been a bit of a disaster with the constant abandonments and postponements to the races. I guess they will get through the programme OK though. Overall though I don't feel like anything else has been a disappointment, aside from France winning too many golds for my liking!"

"I am enjoying the sport. Two things though which could have been better, swimming in a polluted Seine should have precluded it being used and why choose the Med for sailing when more predictably windy Atlantic venues are available."
