Actually, when I go back I like to go up on Primrose Hill and sit there basically gobsmacked at the power of it all. Greenwich Park is good for that too, especially when the ‘shrooms are in season

I’ve never been to the NHC, (Sitter). As a Londoner at the time, it was one of those things I tended to see as over-commercial and would avoid. Kind of regret that now looking back.

Every time I travel back to the UK, I find myself liking London less and less - it's certainly not evolved into the city as I had hoped it would.
Thankfully the Elizabeth Line means only 2 changes of train on the journey from Heathrow to Belverdere, or one change and a taxi from Romford if I pop in to see my brother in Hornchurch first.

My son was there for the first time this spring. Incidentally, he stayed in a hostel around the corner from Goldsmith’s. Of course it doesn’t mean much as it was only a brief visit but he absolutely loved it - said it was quite a moving experience to be in an “ocean of English” as he described it.

The only people who say this are people who are ideologically invested in the political ideals they think the modern city represents, and they usually don't live here. Usually the same for those that say they like the carnival.
I live in London but it is not the greatest city in the world by most measures. It's a difficult city to live in, increasingly dangerous and most people eventually leave. It has its pleasures but if it was the 'greatest city' people wouldn't leave in the numbers they do.

That’s a bit of a harsh way of talking about the Catholic Church. Harsh but fair in retrospect though.
Pickle hasn’t been Carnival, but has been bummed by a priest.

Apparently me preferring Lecce to London is me being entirely comfortable with crimes by the Catholic Church.
So preferring London makes you comfortable with any crimes committed in London.

I think you need to look at sexual offences per capita if you want to compare the Catholic Church and the City of London in this respect in any meaningful way

Lecce knocks spots off London.
but yeh you can go watch Charlton Athletic or mamma Mia any time you want. Just don’t go out on your own at night if you’re female.
