Who do you want to be our next manager?

I know it’s hard to nominate when any decision would be made by the utter pillock Sullivan but …
I’d like to see us take a chance on a young English manager like Michael Carrick

Surely anyone who wants either of them wants their head testing. Can you imagine O'Neill's Millwall past being thrown at him the second we have a few bad results?
What Millwall past?

He supported them as a kid? Who gives a fuck?

Rightly or wrongly, we hounded Moyes out because the style of play was shit and we didn't have enough of the ball. My only issue with moyes was he did not give youth a chance and didn't use the full squad he had at his disposal

We get a manager that plays a posession (pointless) based game and we still play shit. Only really the leicester game we see the team dominate the opposition. Which is what some wanted.

Maybe our level is the right thing for Potter.
Maybe it will work considering what he did after Houghton.
I suppose the job is to very quickly work out what is wrong and get the “fix” accross to the team in training sessions. so maybe he’s that guy.

but I get nervous when coaches reject jobs or seemingly spend ages out of the top flight when it’s such a prestigious league to working in regardless of club.

let’s see

What Potter did do is go to Brighton post-Hughton, and get them playing very much better (and from a League form perspective under Hughton they weren't much dissimilar to the last two seasons of Moyes).

Chelsea was a basket case....it's not a total free pass of course, but a very very difficult situation with about 50 players and a totally different environment for him to try and operate in.

We'd likely be somewhere in the middle.  Maresca has done well at Chelsea by looking at their squad of 50 and telling half of them to fuck off...not even attempted to keep the whole squad happy.

I'm nervous about Potter...his teams historically struggle to score goals. Think he's probably more underwhelming that Conceicao, who seems a bit more boom or bust.

But expect he'll be steady...about the same level as Moyes but with a much better style of football. On that basis I'm ok with him.

I’ve seen his named mentioned a lot but what do people think of Hjulmand? (Kasper).

on the other hand potter got a better squad at Chelsea and did nothing.
worse still, he just put his hand in his pockets and didn’t say much about how shit he was.

I thought similar, he walked away from Chelsea a very wealthy man with not much more than a shrug of the shoulders, just seemed a bit strange. That said, with the names being banded around I would be open to giving him a chance.

Was it really Potter that made Brighton tick?
since he’s gone they keep doing well, doesn’t seem to matter as much about the manager but the whole setup there.

Reality:  Nobody, he won't be going anywhere just yet

But if somehow Sullivan does act, maybe Carrick as he has a connection to us and has cut his teeth in management, but I also think that's a bit of a gamble too.

A manager that has a name easy for me to spell would be a good start.

And yet Potter royally fucked up the Chelsea job. Not keen.

All roads pointing to Potter at this point.  And he's blatantly keen to get back in....sudden appearances on TV at our game, his Chelsea freebie pay day having come to an end.

Lets face it of the Prem manager gigs due to come up within his grasp, ours is the most attractive superfically given the talent within the playing staff, youth team successes, typical budgets available, location and attendances.

They're the two I've whittled it down too, if it happens. If I had to choose one, I'd go for Carrick.

I'd abide Terzic or Carrick. Hjulmand as an outside chance doesn't seem terrible but the little I've read on his style of play doesn't suggest gelling well with our current squad.

Think if we were going to appoint Potter than this summer was the time for it, I have doubts if he can hit the ground running now but maybe he'll be able to work with what he's got and then have a recruitment network set up by summer.

Would enjoy Sérgio Conceição or Marcelo Bielsa being hired just for the fireworks when it all kicks off with the parasitic poisonous porno dwarf.

I expect Steve Cooper, Gareth Southgate, or Rafa Benitez as the out of work experienced hands with the "razzle dazzle" factor, at least for the last two anyway. All of which I'd roll my eyes at and sigh.

Moyes/Ten Haag, absolutely not.
