Saturday football

ARSENAL vs EVERTON (1500)
One battling for top spot, although that seems increasingly remote, and the other is battling to stay in the Premier League. Only one possible outcome, right? Right. Home win.

LIVERPOOL vs FULHAM (1500)
After a spectacular opening few weeks of the season, the river has risen to claim Fulham’s chances of achieving much – or indeed anything – of note this year. Now they have the league leaders to contend with. Life’s not fair. Home win.

NEWCASTLE UNITED vs LEICESTER CITY (1500)
The outlook for the Foxes under Ruud van Nistelrooy is looking slightly more rosy. Newcastle meanwhile are struggling, with both now in the bottom half of the table. Although the hosts must go in as favourites, it will be interesting to see how this tricky encounter pans out. Home win.

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS vs IPSWICH TOWN (1500)
A huge six-pointer. Gary O’Neil has received the public support of the club’s hierarchy. You have to feel sorry for him after his relative success last season and before that at Bournemouth. It’s hard to think that he will end this season as the Molineux boss. Draw.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST vs ASTON VILLA (1730)
This could be a right old corker. Both sides are on 25 points and sit in fifth and sixth places respectively. There’s the sense that Villa are the stronger, but Forest have home advantage, which has often come to their aid in recent seasons. Will it do so again today? Draw.

SUNDAY

BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION vs CRYSTAL PALACE (1400)
The A23 derby sees Palace languishing too close for comfort near the foot of the table while Brighton could end the day in the top four if things go their way. A good fight beckons. Home win.

MANCHESTER CITY vs MANCHESTER UNITED (1630)
How things change. The day’s second derby sees the hosts in fourth but also in trouble, while their not-so-quiet neighbours are mounting a comeback of sorts. This intriguing encounter is not as straightforward as it might have been some weeks ago. Draw.

CHELSEA vs BRENTFORD (1900)
A hattrick of local derbies sees second-placed Chelsea looking to cement their exceptional recent progress and put the heat up Liverpool’s backsides. Brentford won’t offer much opposition. Home win.

SOUTHAMPTON vs TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (1900)
Poor old Southampton are really deep in the brown stuff. Mind you, Spurs aren’t far from there either. Still, the visitors are likely to offer way stronger opposition than the Saints can cope with. Time for the hosts to start planning for life back in the Championship? Away win.

MONDAY

BOURNEMOUTH vs WEST HAM UNITED (2000)
Few people of the claret and blue persuasion will anticipate this with undiluted optimism. We’re stuck uncomfortably close to the danger end of the table and with a manager at risk of spending new year at home. The Cherries are within a win of the top four and have a strong home record. A point will be an achievement. Draw.Image

ARS vs EVE
LIV vs FUL
NEW vs LEI
WOL vs IPS
NFO vs AST

BHA vs CRY
MCY vs MNU
CHE vs BRE
SOU vs TOT

BOU vs WHU

CHAMPIONSHIP
Struggling Pompey were given a good hiding last night at Derby, leaving a mere two points all that separate the bottom five. Yorkshire dominates the top, with Sheffield Utd and Leeds in first and second places. In the play-off places, Blackburn go into today’s game with Luton on the back of five consecutive wins. Two draws, meanwhile, have seen Burnley slip from top to third as they take on Norwich on Sunday. Middlesboro, just outside the top six, host Millwall in lucky 13th today while Sunderland (4th) make the long trek to Swansea.

Potter's not interested in the Wolves job, apparently.

Always great to see Arsenal bottle it.

Chelsea are the real winners this weekend, providing they beat Brentford.

Have you ever had any luck.

I got 4 out of 4 horses once just by liking the names and won £320 on a 10p lucky 15 only because I know nowt about horses.

Atleast you get something back for 1 winner but those accas and union Jack's if there still about are too dodgy for me.
I just do it for a bit of fun. Stretch the weekend out a bit.

Have done since before Covid where it was always self-financing; 30 quid in at the start of the season and generally ended up with enough to tip the bar girls in town a bit extra at the end of term. Never about making money.

Exactly the same selection criteria down the years, but this season that's been 6 or 7 weekends on the trot where it's all gone pear shaped.

Might give it a break until FA Cup weekend.

Makes me laugh when posters say how did we lose to that team they're shit.
Wake up and smell the coffee we are currently one of the worst teams in the division

This is a nuts season so far.

Can't believe some of the results.

If Forest turn Villa over I may have to section myself.

Did have to laugh watching the last 10 minutes of the Arsenal v Everton match with the Arsenal lot getting frustrated all pointing to their watch, due to Everton players time wasting and play acting after all their antics against us. 🤣

Looks like that 0-0 vs Everton doesn't look so bad now they've dug another one out against Title contenders as well.

And fuck Arsenal and all who sail in her! cսnt of an entitled Club and a cսnt of a fraudulent manager who just cannot keep their bottle...

Like I always said to Gooners, they had the right manager all along but we're too impatient to stick with Unai Emery.

Wolves v Ipswich should be all action, big 6 pointer.

Southampton v Spurs Spurs tomorrow is the one though they can not afford to lose..

Expecting us to lose Monday, Bournemouth's form is very good and think they'll have too much for us. Hopefully we can get a result if we find our shooting boots for a change.

Not sure what's worse - to return from Tenerife and then go to Dagenham v Rochdale or return from Tenerife and then go to Rochdale v Dagenham.

Morning all,
Bournmouth feels like the Newcastle game. Can Loppey pull it off again, I don't see why not? But who knows how it will go? I am certainly looking forward to it and it should tell us a lot about the direction we'll be going in if the last remaining porno hasn't the stomach for change.

As for the rest, who cares...

ARS vs EVE agree home
LIV vs FUL agree home
NEW vs LEI agree home
WOL vs IPS home
NFO vs AST home

BHA vs CRY agree home
MCY vs MNU home
CHE vs BRE agree home
SOU vs TOT hopefully home

BOU vs WHU away

Thanks Coffee

Cheers Coffers 😀

Dint mind the Monday games for us, usually means I can enjoy the weekend games! 😂

We do have very good record on Monday’s, and although the cherries have had some outstanding result against the top sides this season reckon we are due back to back  wins for the first time in how long????? So 2-1 WHU and the Spaniard can fight another game or 3….

COYI

Morning Coffee,

Newcastle vs Leicester might be a decent watch. O'Neil has to win. Routine wins for Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool.

Manchester derby - who cares.
