BOURNEMOUTH vs WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS (1500)
The Cherries are within spitting distance (take my word for it) of a Champions League finish while Wolves are within similar distance of an unwanted bottom three spot. Momentum, form and home advantage together point to just one possible outcome. Home win.

ARSENAL vs WEST HAM UNITED (1500)
Don’t know what to say. Paqueta’s joined the non-walking wounded. There’s a stronger sense of by how many than of who. You figure out the rest. Home win.

FULHAM vs CRSYTAL PALACE (1500)
Two consecutive wins have put Fulham back on course for now, although Palace can point to three wins in their last six so they’re unlikely to be pushovers. Tight but probably inevitable. Home win.

IPSWICH TOWN vs TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (1500) 
Spurs’ last win at Portman Road saw Jurgen Klinsmann score twice in a 3-1 victory. The visitors must be yearning for another Klinsmann to boost their flagging campaign. Away win.

SOUTHAMPTON vs BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION (1500)
It must be excruciatingly painful being a Saints supporter these days. There’s really no way to talk up their prospects against any opposition, so let’s just say it as it is. Away win.

Probably the game of the day. It’s been six games since Villa last won a league fixture and this one offers little in the way of hope to remedy that. The visitors have won two, drawn two and lost two in the same period. Hmm. Draw.

Home advantage will tip the balance even against high-flying Forest. Just. Home win.

Football fans aren't really known for complimentary chants aimed at the opposition. I suppose it's another indication of how the modern game has gone, it's so easy to take offence. I'm pretty sure that no one wanted the palace player to actually die, its just what fans do. Really no different from a stand up comedian making 'unsavoury' observations, there's no harmful intent in saying stuff  that some may find offensive. 


 

More worrying is how bent WHO is now, something that I have (rightly) pointed out in recent times. I doubt even anyone on KUMB were offended by those nasty Millwall fans.

Really dangerous from the Millwall goalkeeper and almost laughable that Oliver didn't take any action - but getting upset about a nasty chant from the fans? Grow up, they're an old school supporter over there who most of our new fans could learn from for passion and noise.

Can't stand them but it has to be a better experience being a Millwall supporter surrounded by your own in a purpose-built football ground than being a West Ham supporter sitting in a huge athletics bowl with no atmosphere surrounded by Chinese teenagers eating popcorn wearing half and half scarves and waving their phones around then getting grassed up by your own fans for anything possibly offensive to someone. 

I’d totally agree if it wasn’t obviously a potentially very serious injury. Just a bit cunty to do it under those specific circumstances.

A conflicting day for VAR.  On the one hand we can’t trust England’s “top ref” to see that as a foul by the Millwall keeper, let alone the most straightforward red card of his career. On the other hand, eight fucking minutes to bottom out a potential handball and offside. Nearly 10% of the match. Leaving both sets of fans rightfully chanting “it’s not football anymore” .

Clearly VAR has made already incompetent refs lazy knowing they have the back up. It’s obvious it’s needed to stop disasters like Oliver’s today being missed, but every single fan on both sides is fine with a 2 minute limit, if it can’t be decided it’s not clear and obvious and therefore on field decision stands and everyone moves on. 

Just find something near to being a happy medium!

Fuck me that’s a UFC knock out head kick. Awful stuff. To be fair to the keeper he waved for help straight away but that was an insane challenge no keeper should make. You’ve got to hope Mateta isn’t seriously hurt.

Agree how on earth can the ref not instantly send him off for that? Not even a yellow card? He should get a demotion for his inaction there. It’s not like he didn’t have a view of the incident. Only possible thing is that he knew VAR would cover his arse and he didn’t want to send anyone off after 5 mins.
