He had more tricks (when he weren't gifting it back to the opposition) but the 1 player in our Squad post Rice that is the most talented is Bowen.

I'll miss West ham having a player in the sqaud like Lucas Paqueta...the soert of player that other teams covet. That attracts players that just want to play with a player like that. The most talented player in the squad. We're a poorer setup for him not being with us anymore.
I agree with his worth pre betting trial. But don't think he was anything like Di-Canio nor do I think he will he be remembered for anything other than the pass to Bowen.

He got way too much credit (he deserves some) for that pass. It was Bowen who did most of the work by signalling he was willing to run in to that gaping space in behind and then the rest was all on Bowen to score it under pressure from a defender and an on rushing Keeepr.
For the most part he has been a let down with an awful professionalism/attitude to jump ship when the shit hits the fan when all the Club ever did was stand by him unequivocally. We deserved better treatment than that and in my opinion he did get caught out being a greedy cսnt with his pals through the bookies.

Good riddance
It's always been all about him and now the rat deserts the fast sinking ship which is indicative of his character or lack of it.
He never gave a shit about West ham and would have pissed off to city long ago if it wasn't for the betting enquiry.
His deliberate sending off against Liverpool on a day we lost a true club legend and the epitome of everything Lucas isn't was disrespectful in the extreme and in my view he wasn't fit to wear the shirt after that..
Plenty of people make excuses for him and point to his undoubted talent being a positive but overall the risk to reward ratio when he played was to the teams detriment.
A mercenary and prima donna who got an easy ride compared to the stick others got for wanting to get away.

I'm gutted it didn't work out. He's far too skilful for the iterations of West Ham he was part of and the safety net coward managers. I didn't even want to sell him to Manchester City for £85million plus Palmer. Now a shadow of the player he was then, half because of the Betway nonsense and half because we beat it out of him.

You always hoped and expected more from him especially with consistency. There was the odd moment of genius but really far too far and few between. He didn't become worth his place in the team by the end. You were always waiting for something special that so rarely actually came.
As I said on another thread, I think he checked out as soon as the Man City move fell apart and the FA came for him. To add there's no doubt the refs absolutely marked his card (no pun intended) and he got consistently treated very poorly by them.

Yep agree with that, he was decent between around half way and up to the final third but rarely did anything in the final third. That's not an opinion, it's a fact. Piss poor from a so called creative playmaker.

Say what you like about Paqueta, but I'm much less confident in our ability to score a penalty now! Bowen got lucky the other day, and he's not nearly as good at pens as Lucas was.

I have no emotion either way about him leaving, mainly because I didn't rate the show pony. A couple of tricks on the half way line ain't of any use, he was clearly incapable of doing anything in the final third at this level, barely laid a glove on defenders aside from the vey odd fleeting moment. Agreed axeman ( he has failed at West Ham but better having him than no one ) assuming we are not going to replace him this window ( even a loan). Which at this moment looks to be whats gonna happen.

Never lived up the hype / reputation. He failed in Italy as a number 10, then was successful with Lyon as a number 8. Rarely played that role at West Ham under successive managers and then subjected to a betting trial ( by media ) that lasted 2 years.
In a much better team he may achieve some consistency but for us he failed is the harsh truth. Not necessarily all of his own doing but nonetheless a failed stint overall imo.

When he scored his penalty against Brighton, he celebrated like he'd won us the game single handedly...
bloke infront of me at the LS pointed out that when Welbeck scored his first penalty he ran into the goal, picked up the ball and jogged back to the centre spot.
