What it does prove is that not every Muslim is a terrorist fanatic
Which seems to be a common view on here

1billybonds son … his immigrant son … seems to have inherited his fathers views
Melbourne is a great city and Australia is a country built on immigration. They even accept right wing Poms and tolerate those cricket fans … Nigel Farages Gammon Army … with their tedious songs and chants

I don’t think anyone believes that. But a sample of data of say, what, the last 20 similar events and there is a common denominator. It feels to me that making a point about the faith of one person who intervened is done so as a point scoring exercise to almost in some way diminish or devalue the seriousness of the original crime. One that is being repeated all too frequently. Why can’t people point out the obvious connections without apologists saying “yeah, but…”. Sometimes there are no buts.

Bit worried about the have-a-go hero. If they identify him, will he become a target? Brave fucker.

What exactly are the views of either my son or me.?

My immpressions of Melbourne are formed from people who live there and i speak to regularly, not some desperate lefty London.
I thought he was referring to feet, but may have it wrong.. I actually thought the same at first.
Edit I was wrong

You are an apologist and supporter of Nazi Nigel and your son hangs out with Kiwis.
I have plenty of friends in Melbourne and several who grew up there & live in London
Mainly professionals not rednecks so maybe I am talking to the wrong people

Depends on your point of view, but I'm sure the citizens of Ireland and Israel, would say their terrorism campaigns to establish their independant states back in the day, were justified and made their lives better.
There is still unrest in Israel and Ireland. Like the October 7th 2023, for instance, when Hamas attacked Israel

Very brave but very stupid, OB could have shot him on site while he had the gun in his hand.

Does that somehow neutralise the original crime? Just trying to understand what this proves, it if is the case? Seems a fairly weak point to make to me.

On the BBC website, they have a video of that brave Aussie disarming the terrorist. The terrorist is seen shooting (with what looks like a pump action shotgun). Who the BBC refer to as the "alleged gunman."

And before too long, conspiracy theories will emerge, along the lines that the Jewish cabal in Australian Intelligence, knew of the terrorists' plans, but allowed the attacks to happen, to generate sympathy for the Jewish community. Similar to the dross that came out after the October 7th attacks.

Feet.

My Mrs has 2 adult sons in Melbourne. They speak on the phone every week and unless they are lying through their teeth whenever they speak, then sorry to argue but Melbourne has GONE.  Of course, like everywhere else there are pockets of resistance but most of the 'agitators' are settled and there is little or no appetite to deport the worst of them from the political elites.

Love the Aussie’s. But like us Pom’s. They are run now by HR. So it will be a lot of talking. Very little done about it. And then something else comes along. For them to worry about.?
Good luck Folks.!

Fraser is right. The old school Australia has gone, Melbourne is by all accounts the most woke major city in the world.

Not that bad in WA which is a few years behind the major city's in attitudes but they'll soon catch up.
I disagree, my son is in Melbourne and there have been anti immigration protests plus the right wing MP who wore a burqa into parliament a couple of weeks ago. It’s dawning on them.

I’m not surprised your son got as far away from you as possible.

You can disagree all you want, you're wrong as usual
I lived there for 13 years yet you think you know better, I still talk to friends there all the time.
