Wish we were more lethal in front of goal and put teams away. Other then that good performance. Coufal excellent. Anyone notice the bias punditry about paqueta

I thought Coufal had a really good game tonight. Great to see him returning to the form he showed when he first signed.

Great to get 3 points, from a game that wasn’t our best. Very good in parts, but also some silly errors that lost possession. Nice to be top agai, at least for a few hours. Who knows, maybe Fulham can surprise everyone and grab a point. ⚒⚒⚒

Delighted with the win and over the moon to be top of the league . But …. I reckon Luton ate the worst PL side in years and despite spending over £200 million we produced a workmanlike performance to beat them by a single goal . Yeah , it was a banana skin , but after 15 mins it was clear they were shit . Yet we conceded again , it’s a running sore . We need to score 2 in each game to have a chance of winning. A tall order that I fear will be beyond us more often than not .

Not getting carried away with our excellent start is not the same as the unrelenting negativity of some on here. Balance is all. Although, as a Libran, I most say that astrology is an unredeemable pile of shit. Balance is all, just not in everything

We have decent players that should keep the ball better in the final third, we could create so many more chances.

In 2017-8, West Ham, bottom after the third match (currently, most of the PL have played 3), overtook 3 of the top ten after three matches, including Huddersfield, who were third Without thinking that Luton will emulate our boys of 2018, and finish 13th, it just shows you that things are far from over at this point

First off…62 percent possession!!! I know we like talking about possession so it would be rude not to mention it ???? We weren’t brilliant but I felt we were fairly comfortable for the most part. It’s just annoying that we gave away a poor goal at the end when our centre backs were slow to react and then had to rely on a fortunate decision (or non decision in this case) to stay ahead when we should have seen the game out comfortably. On the plus side 10 points from 12 is an excellent start to the season and the 2 new boys in Alverez & JWP have fitted in well. Hopefully Kudus & the Greek lad will do the same in the coming weeks and months. COYI!

The negativity on here, this season. Can some of you not be happy? We'll struggle to break teams down. Areola needs to improve (did you not see his performance at Brighton)? Not enough possession, but scoring 3 goals, twice? Stonewall penalty not given against us. Yet when we get a decision go against us and people mention it (e.g. Chelsea away, last season) they are grasping at straws. You don't get 10 points out of 12, without doing a lot right. We've chalked off 3 away games, unbeaten, 7 points (only 12 in the entirety of last season, away). I'm sure plenty will go wrong this season. Can you just not enjoy the good times, without whining, while they last?

Vexed 1:14 Sat Sep 2 Payet and Paqueta are different players so tough to comapre. I think I know what you mean though. We caught Payet at his absolute height. It was just a shame we didn't get more for him which we would have had he not downed tools. Paqueta though has a real flourish to his game that's hard to put your finger on. He commits good fouls that tend not to get punished. He makes great passes and dribbles out of trouble well. He also makes frustrating decisions, but I think his best is yet to come.

Top of the league after playing 10% of our games this season; going unbeaten into the international break. No (realistic) chance of (any 2 of) Sheffield United, Burnley, Everton & Luton Town catching us (now) so we can probably forget relegation worries this season. Had you offered me that when the fixture list was published, I'd have ripped your arm of taking it.

, 1:05 Sat Sep 2 I like Paqueta but Payet was different level for us. Going into that world cup he was probably the form player in world football. Paqueta aint there yet but thought he was really good again today. The bright spark in a turgid game of football.

Would be good to see the Mancs win this weekend just to enjoy the entitled Arsenal fans reactions. They seem to have forgotten the 15 years they were unable to compete for the title and think one good season guarantees they are “back”. Maybe but teams will be aware f what they can do this season so might not be that the title is now destined to be theirs. City will win it Imo although they have to play us soon in a too if the table clash. We should make the most of it :-) while it lasts.

At least we tried to hold onto a lead in a way that's different to our usual "surrender 2/3 of the pitch and try to block everything that the opposition throws at us". At times we were playing proper possession football, giving them the run-around. Can't see us doing that against Man City, but we should be able to do it against a few teams between Luton and Man City

Areola and aguerd need to improve, they scare me, not buying a striker is crazy but we are top of the league!

Just four games in and twenty five per cent towards safety already. Heady days, now two weeks off, then it’s home to Man City which will be a real test. When Payet came in he absolutely hit the ground running, shone brightly then burned out. Paqueta has been a slow burner ( it may be that Bilic can handle a top class individual better than Moyes ) but for me in terms of the way he is playing now he is at least Payet’s equal. I hope we can keep him for at least the whole of this season.

Luton were bad. They could be on zero points at Christmas from what I've seen of them. Certainly no more than five points. Out of their depth.

What is it with Arsenal fans in particular? On another forum and its the Arsenal fans very vocal and bitter that Luton got robbed on a "Stonewall" penalty, West Ham are shit and lucky and dont deserve to be at the top of the PL. Hope the Mancs stuff them, they really feel aggrieved that West Ham are in the spot that they should be in. bunch of cunts

Even victories are subject to criticism. Even deserved victories are subject to criticism. We deserved to win this one. But we should ve won it by a bigger margin than a shit ref missing a penalty call. We can do better.

Our midfield looks so much more balanced this season - thought we did ok in places and moved the ball well. Benrahma was poor for me tonight and Antonio not great - however if Emerson’s goal counts we win that 4 or 5. Luton loved an up and under which unsettled us. They were largely poor but should have had a pen at the end. We are 8 points ahead of where I thought we would be now - so fair play to the players for getting 10 points after 4, great return.
