"There is a very good section on GB news where the ludicrous idiocies of Wokeness are looked at I thought we would should have one for WHO. I'll start with Baptiste on BBC: In Hungary,an ambassador's family are kidnapped by Islamic terrorists and carry out atrocities. At the end of the last episode Baptiste finds out that it is a false flag operation and conveniently, the real culprits are white supremacists who want to stop all immigration. Coronation Street ITV a gay black footballer is stopped by the police, because he is driving an expensive car. He is pushed to the ground during an altercation, and damages his leg threatening his career. Could have been written by Dawn Butler or a BLM activist."

"That's an odd group to pick on, if there was any group that did well out of the pandemic it was delivery drivers. They were in demand and their salaries leapt. As for living in tower blocks, we (family of four) live in a tall block of flats and we were all absolutely fine as were our neighbours. In my experience, the group coping least well were people living in dormitory towns (or the exurbs in American parlance). typically adequate sized housing with gardens but car-bound as they live too far away from any urban centre to walk anywhere. With everything shut, especially pubs, they were exposed to very little street life and found it hardest. The people I know who had mental health issues during lockdown (my sister was one) were all in those circumstances. But anyway, straying from the point, everyone suffered in some way or other (we were separated from family, missed funerals etc), but for most of the population, daily existence wasn't affected negatively and a welcome relief from the stresses of normal daily life. The people whose businesses collapsed or struggled to cope with lockdown conditions were in a small minority. Not that makes them undeserving of sympathy or help, but they aren't the whole story which is why I don't share your outrage at what the intellectual on the panel said,"

You never considered their lives? Or the lives of big multi generational families? Or those in tower blocks or those who’s lives revolved around supporting West Ham home and away? I mean I could go onbut it feels like you are deaf to real lives.

"I suppose if you're concerned about unemployment in the third world, but here in rich western countries most people (not everyone) were fairly well protected and unemployment never got out of hand. Yes, plenty of businesses struggled or went under but most people coasted through. So it's not too surprising that amongst the lap toppers there are people who have never met first-hand a person who suffered during the lockdowns."

The 300 million is a conservative estimate. I know the number in India was huge alone. The laptop class were oblivious.

"Not sure about that 300 million figure. I am sure it caused distress for quite a few, I know enough of them. But on the whole, I think the people who enjoyed or benefitted from lockdown were in the majority."

I asked him. He recognised the “callousness” of his comment but was clear in the joy it brought to him as an individual. Equally it appears the the laptop class enjoyed it immensely as they avoided thinking about the 300 million immediately losing their jobs Worldwide or the huge number of workers forced to carry on amongst potentially infectious colleagues who were working to make his idyl more enjoyable. He literally is and was even more blinkered to the people who make his life more enjoyable. I was surprised that such an intellectual was able to express that openly and once I had pointed out the negatives he was back peddling. That all said. Ge’s a busy man and the time and space was enjoyable. I always made space for time and space so I suddenly felt very superior.

"BRANDED 6:30 Fri Jun 10 ""Blinkered fuckwits."" But this works both ways. Surely they will say you are blinkered fuckwit for being unable to realise so many people enjoyed the lockdown. Yes, there are plenty that hated it, but for the middle-class laptop class as you call them it has been a boon. Life slowed down while income remained stable. Just because there were quite a few who hated it or who convinced themselves it was unnecessary it doesn't make laptoppers experience invalid. Unless I am missing the point here and you just think he was wrong to assume his audience was all middle-class working on a laptop?"

Scorch I saw a well known British philosopher speak on a panel last week called “ the idiocy of experts” . There was a lot of insight and then he said “ but dont we sll think lock down one was excellent? We got to relax and drink wine and generally wind down” the audience clapped. They were all progressive middle class laptop class. I was taken aback as I couldnt quite believe that such an intelligent thinker would say such a thing but he genuinely meant it. It was great for him so fuck everybody else. Blinkered fuckwits.

"It's always one rule for the ridiculously out of touch and completely lacking introspection rich and famous and one for the rest of us. The good thing is now they have access to social media they are no longer protected by PR people 24/7 so their idiocy and lack of self awareness is there for all to see. Exhibit A: See Madonna in the midst of covid posting on social media from a bath full of rose petals locked safely away from society in one of her massive mansions with no doubt live in staff, rooms full of food, talking about how the pandemic was the 'great equaliser'. Laughable. Tell that to the family of 6 in a two or three bedroom flat where both parents have to go out to work every day. Idiotic cunts the lot of them."

Is this the same Emma Thompson who flew first class from the States and spent a couple of hours at an extinction rebellion protest in London before flying back first class to the States the very same day? Her ethos is the plebs shall not fly but those of us with money can.

"Can't stand Thompson. She made a comment years ago about a film she was in along the lines of ""Are you not worried this would be glorifying the ira"" ET ""I don't really care"""

Is the West End going broke because it's gone all woke? A Prince Charming who spurns Cinders for the Duke. A Jane Austen play that flaunts the F-word. No wonder theatres are struggling to fill their seats ! BBC apologises after Len Goodman said his nan used to call curry powder 'foreign muck' during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee live coverage !! Hahaha my mum used to say the same.... Both C&P Mail.
