"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Norflondon. I'm sure Quinn tried to bring him to Washington but it would have been a lateral move, so I'm sure Dan gave him the best reference and he's ended up with a bigger role in Seattle

Article about (Northbank's? Apologies if it's someone else on here!) brother off the BBC site.

It feels a little like a rehash of one I am sure I've read on there before but still:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/american-fo ... 7x1jvyn54o

I feel like I can actually wish him well now he's not coaching for the cuntiest team in the league.

I still don't think the Jets know what a good young QB really looks like and how to develop them.

That's why they swallowed the pill and went all in on an undoubted success - but a veteran - in Rodgers, who is now the oldest player in the NFL.

Under these owners, I think that'll have to be our model going forward. Maybe not a 40-year-old every time, though!

Btw, Darnold has always had decent talent.

He entered the draft a year early, so he was much younger even than most rookies and he needed work. The Jets were, of course, the wrong franchise for him given our historical problems with offense and developing quarterbacks (the owners still don't really know what a winning set-up looks like).

Darnold's illness in his rookie year also curtailed him. He missed key games, and he was thrown in at the deep end rather than having time to learn behind a veteran QB. But the worst thing that happened to him was that he never really had a decent offensive or QB coach in New York.

He lost his way, ended up in Carolina (another graveyard for many QBs). But he's a decent enough player that, despite all of that, he's learned a bit along the way. Good luck to him.

The sliding doors moment for Darnold was when the Browns picked Mayfield ahead of him as the #1 draft pick. The Jets (under Todd Bowles as HC) wanted Mayfield, who was a little older, more street-wise and a better fit for New York. Darnold, who had been touted as the #1 pick, went #3 to us instead (we also passed on Josh Allen) and we were not ready for him because we offered no development path. I still think Mayfield would have thrived in New York - he's got that kind of chippy "couldn't give a shit" character, and he's a gunslinger who takes a few extra risks.

Now Mayfield is thriving in Tampa...under Todd Bowles.

So much hate for the Jets on here. Yet, like the masters they are, they're 2-1 and putting the Patsies to the sword.

Just thought I'd write that while I get the chance. Thank you.

I will, of course, he back when we're 3-11 and struggling again...

Sort of goes to show you doesn’t it that sometimes a ‘failure’ of a QB just needs to be put in the right situation to produce something. I mean it always helps to have a Jefferson to throw to and there’s no guarantee he can keep it up but good luck to him.

so many of the top drafted qbs these days are dropped into horrendous teams with little talent and made the starter right away with the message ‘ok- save us’. It’s no wonder so many of them seem to look like absolute busts. You at least want to have a serviceable offense around you. It’s not really a surprise that the qbs drafted by teams like the packers and Steelers turn out ok as the team around them is always fundamentally decent and well coached, and players who got drafted by the jets or bears or panthers etc (no offence boys) often flame out or look awful and get moved on. Usually to another equally shitty team where it happens again.

Well well well, let's hope that bastard Mr Burns choked on his cornflakes this morning like the niners did last night.

Impossible replacing McCaffrey as were finding out, but can be no excuses as ther were without a couple of star receivers as well.

D is just looking shit, dar too many easy plays given away.

Is that just on mobile or can you get it to play on laptop/tv as well? DAZN are so shit their app and website won’t even let me sign up or create an account to rob money from me for their piss poor product.
