Poland is now all-in to spending 4% of GDP on defense. There is a realisation that it may have to lead a European (non-NATO) intervention in Ukraine or even do so alone if the Ukrainians can’t deal with the Kremlin threat alone.

"A battalion of Russian soldiers were marching through Ukraine.. From behind a huge pile of rubble they hear a faint yell. ""One Ukrainian soldier can kill 10 Russian soldiers!"" The Russian colonel laughs, then sends 10 of his soldiers over the pile. After a short battle and the ensuing silence, another yell: ""One Ukrainian soldier can take out 100 Russian soldiers!"" The Russian colonel is getting annoyed now, so he sends 100 of his best fighters over the rubble pile. After a much larger battle, silence ensues.. ""One Ukrainian soldier can take out 1000 Russian soldiers!"" The colonel is furious, and sends 1000 of his best soldiers. After a very long battle, a wounded Russian limps back over the rubble towards his battalion: ""COLONEL, IT’S A TRAP! THERE'S TWO UKRAINIANS!!"""

Sockski... I've done 'war porn' as you call it from the start... so seen with my own eyes what's been going on... and that's from both sides... I've also seen the wreckage of the great Russian bears armour... and that's just the ones documented... it's no secret Ivan has been throwing all sorts into meat grinding operations... it's something they have always done... prisoners... scum... poverty stricken areas... probably dont count in stats... oh along with smashing shit loads of artillery into infrastructure (both military and residential)... it's what they do... that's how Ivan gets the job done... seen with my own war porn eyes...

"Soldo, I don't really do war porn. I've seen almost the exact same claims from both sides, its propaganda, if you like that sort of thing, knock yourself out mate. There were periods when Russian casualties would have been higher, and periods when Ukrainian casualties were higher. Thats the nature of how the war has developed. If you think Ukraine has had 31k deaths, you are deluded."

"Saw an interesting article in the NYT that discussed the CIA involvement in Ukraine over the last eight years. How they established 12 secret spy locations around the borders of Russia, and have rebuilt the underground command centre Russia blew up.(Thought that was denied as Russian propaganda?) It's as if Ukraine has massive importance to the US strategically and don't care how much damage it takes to be able to put official military bases there."

Tell what you do Sockski... is you go to that site that shows all the geographic placements and attached photos of all that wasted Russian armour... then you multiply that by 4 or 5 for every T-tank and maybe by 6 for every troop carrier... will give you a starting point.

"""Kremlins official figure of 6,000 Russian deaths"" I haven't seen that anywhere, or any figure from Russia on their military deaths. Do you have any source for it? Mediazona, a joint BBC, NED and Pussy Riot media outlet have been tracking Russian deaths very accurately - last time I checked it was about 45k or so, but based on sourcing info from local funeral notices in Russia and social media posts in Russia. They state the likely figure is much higher and I agree, maybe double or more. Russia claims Ukr has 385k dead, Von Der Leyen said 100k dead Ukr OFFICERS over a year ago. Ukraine is seeking 500k conscripts to replace lost soldiers. You can pick a number, but I doubt you will get an accurate number from either side."

Anyway... the figure might not be too far off... think the Ukranian's take far greater care over their wounded than Ivan does... and think far more injured troops have a chance of surviving with them than USSR... seen too many videos of Russians just being deserted and left ... and picked off.. one thing with the Western Armour is even if it gets knocked out... you stand a chance... the cold war rust buckets?? Pop goes the Weasel...

"Weird stuff coming out of Ukraine Navalny died of natural causes, a blood clot, according to Budanov, head of Ukr military intel. Elenskiy claims 31k ukrainian deaths so far, at odds with nearly all western reports and a pretty incredible figure when you consider the military have been asking for 500,000 mobilisation of conscripts"

Nutsin - What a truly odd cսnt you are. Forever harping on about Joe Biden and co on a UK football forum. What has it achieved after all these years?

"Russia was at war with Afghanistan for 9 years before they pulled out the USA,was at war for over 20 years, yes, it was the right thing to do, it’s obvious."

"Pulling out of Afghanistan was the right thing to do was it? But they’re from the Stone Age, as we are kept being told. What’s the point in being a super power, if you can’t hack it against people from the Stone Age? I know! Go to war against a neighbouring country to the Stone Age ones, only they’re 100 times better prepared, at the behest of Israel! That’ll work."

"Exeter It is no secret that Biden has done nothing to advance the Abraham accords, in fact Biden has been accused of abandoning them. As for Afghanistan pulling out was exactly the right thing to do, problem was how we pulled out. The idiot Biden pulled out in reckless abandon. It was an absolute shambles. Funny how the Dems keep leaving Americans behind. They did it in Benghazi. The world today is a mess and it is due to Biden and his idiotic policies. It is no surprise that the world has gone to shit since he took office. Biden will be out of office soon then we can start to recover some normalcy and get the world order back in check, until then we can all sit back and watch the constant killing and misery that is the Democratic Party."

"Btw though, what was Biden expected to do in both situations he was given? Stay in Afghanistan after Trump had signalled to pull out, right after? Rip up the Abraham Accords before the ink had dried? That would’ve made America look (even more) stupid."

Of course he is to blame for things. He’s an imbecile. Then again that seems to be a prerequisite of gaining the position of US president.

Exeter Is Biden to blame for anything? And why hasn’t Biden been able to fix a thing since he took office? Is he just there to just kill time?

"No of course not Nutsin. What I am going to say though is what’s going on now is largely the result of Trumps actions in the Middle East and beyond. It was Trump after all who decided to pull out of Afghanistan? On one hand the world is told the enemy is from the Stone Age, yet on the other the most advanced military nation in the world has to retreat from them? That was Trumps decision, not Bidens. Trump instigated the Abraham accords. How are they going? Recent news would suggest an even greater clusterfuck than when Blair was given the role of a Middle East peace envoy?"

The farmers are unhappy about competition from Ukraine and feel they haven’t been consulted properly on EU agricultural policies. They are taking advantage of circumstances here as we have a new government and local and EU elections coming up this year.

Would be nice if Gopnik explained what the fuck is going on in his own country. Why are Polish farmers holding up signs asking for Putin to sort out Brussels and the Polish govt? Why are Polish farmers spoiling Ukrainian grain? Why are Poles blocking the borders with Ukraine?

Exeter Are you seriously gonna sit there and tell me that what is going on today in the Middle East today is the same as it was when Trump was in office?
