"""Fool Me Once"" on Netflix (starring Michelle Keegan) is worth a watch. Only eight episodes of 45 minutes, so easy to binge watch over a few days."

"Boy swallows Universe (Netflix) Half way through and loving it... brilliant acting, casting, storylines.... boy it's bleak at times but is balanced up with some superbly comical moments... real surprise. https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2024/jan/11/boy-swallows-universe-review-netflix-trent-dalton-adaptation"

"violator 2:58 Wed Jan 10 I'm not fussy but I see what you mean! ;-) Finished it last night so whole series in three days. Hats off to it because as I say I prefer films because I haven't got the patience with series and many long term ones (eg Lost) end up being disappointing at the end. This though keeps you gripped and I was miles off with my theory. It is funny hearing Joanna Lumley saying ""fuck off"" though!"

Kaiser Zoso 1:32 Sun Jan 7 Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls If the story had been about the security services enabling Islamic Terrorists to commit mass murder then it might have had a bit more realism. As it was it was nonsense from beginning to end.

CS - Have you seen Girl/Haji on Netflix? Similar type of plot about mafia in Asia (Tokyo) with a lot of the series filmed in London. It's good.

"Zico - Just finished it, it makes for good tv, and of course it gets you hooked, a whodunnit always does. Like a lot of these types of shows it can get a bit 'silly' and unrealistic, but it's a good watch for sure and the pace never slackens off."
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
After being persuaded to give Fool Me Once on Netflix a go I must say I'm hooked after one episode and I usually prefer films over series. Mind you Michelle Keegan does make it an easier watch.

"The plot line in the first Slow Horses series is the opposite of that, Brando It’s an MI5 entrapment plot that seeks to create an anti far right narrative which actually gets exposed."

My bedtime watch is currently Ken Burns `The Civil War'... if you liked the Vietnam series that was brought out a few years ago this is right up there a superbly crafted and put together series (on one of the sky channels)... maybe the World at War just pips it for me...

Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
"The first 2 Fargo's are some of the best tv I've ever seen, the 3rd season was pretty good, 4 I won't go near, but like you say heard 5 is back on form, so may get around to it at some point soon. Finishing up 'Fool me once' on Netflix, it's a trifle exhausting as many characters and sub plots etc involved, but it's got me hooked and would recommend it. Keegan is a bit of a sort too."
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
Another +1 for Fargo. A true return to form after a disapointing season 4 Anyone not familiar they're (almost) all standalones so not important to miss a season.
