"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"Just don't understand why Gronk was on the field for that Miami play, I understand he's usually there for a hail Mary as he's a giant and can go over people to knock the ball down, but there was no chance Tannehill was going to launch that ball 69 yards in the air to reach the endzone. Devin McCourty would have chased Drake down and pushed him out of bounds before he reached the endzone."

"After last night, It sounds like Chicago might be another team riding a defence to a late season surge. The NFC playoffs looks to be pretty interesting. Goff without Gurley clicking looked awful, in the highlights and stats at least."

Kittle is a fantastic TE. 210 yards and a TD in the first half. Needs 5 yards to break the all time game record.

"That Fins play was extraordinary. Unfortunately, I'm not remotely interested in the Fins or Patsies - as a Jets fan it's a little like being asked for a preference in a Millwall v Spurs game. So I'll just shrug my shoulders and pretend it never happened!"

"medwayhammer1 11:22 Sun Dec 9 Congrats. Sometimes, some seasons things like that can kick start your team (or be a great consolation - I say from following the Saints, pre-Brees)"

"Would be bad for Smith, but the fella has at least had over 10 years in the NFL and is a multi millionaire, so he'll be ok!! And not a lot the skins can do really. Horrendous injury list at the moment."

"Really pleased for Josh Johnson. Getting all sorts of stick for a) being a bit shit and b) not being Kaepernick, he's done really well. It even looked like the Cowboys players were congratulating him when he scored."

Double post. But watch Mark Ingram literally drag a guy into the end zone with him when you get a chance.

I did a double take and had to check it really was only half time when I clocked the Redskins score.

"i've not got much time for either but that doesn't stop me appreciating what a great partnership they've had, very few teams have matched what they've achieved and it wouldn't surprise me if belichik didn't fancy another rebuild and working with an inferior quarterback"

"Btw, stronger-than-normal rumours/gossip (and it is only that) circulating that Tom Brady might finally hang up his spikes at the end of this season. He's generally been quite impenetrable on the issue when asked, but in recent weeks quite a few of his (genuinely) closer friends (mostly select ex-team mates) have all indicated that this could be his final year. Which indicates that he's dropped more hints than usual. It's all gossip and rumour, as usual. But it does seem to have a little more resonance because of the sources. Wonder how long Belichick will hang around beyond Tom's retirement? Could be all change in the AFC East. Might even give us Jets a chance to shine (don't hold your breath!)..."

"Yeah, the infection in Smith's leg is awful news, coming on the back of the double-break. He's a really good bloke, and I hope he gets through it OK. The good thing is that he will get the best medical attention in the world, and both the Skins and the NFL will look after him. They are (both) pretty good like that. To be honest, Skins fans, I think Smith was unlikely ever to play again anyway. A double leg break of that kind, at the age of 34, was always going to take at least two years to recover from fully. The infection and treatments he'll need could merely slow that process down further. He's looking at being 36 - minimum - by the time he's even training again. It sounds really harsh, but I'd kinda' written off a comeback. I just hope that he gets over the infection, the breaks and gets mobile enough to enjoy a full retirement. He's earned it."
