Daily Quiz anyone?

Post easthammer »

"If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells? I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature. I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers. You mark your own answers and post your score. I will then record the scores and at the end of the ""lockdown"" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves) Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions. Any interest?"

Which aria was composed in 1934 by George Gershwin for the opera Porgy and Bess? Summertime 3. Which 1983 British TV drama series written by Willy Russell starred David Morrissey and Spencer Leigh as two 16-year-old Liverpool boys? One Summer 4. Which singer was known as the 'Queen of Disco'? Donna Summer 5. Which Shakespeare play is set in Athens, and consists of several subplots that revolve around the marriage of Theseus and Hippolyta? A Midsummer Night's Dream 6. What was a debut single and big hit for Mungo Jerry? 'In the Summertime' 7. With the exception of programmes 'rebooted' after long hiatuses, what holds the record of the longest-running TV comedy programme in Britain and the longest-running TV sitcom in the world Last of the Summer Wine 8. What name is given to the vast ensemble of lakes, gardens and palaces in Beijing which are a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design? The Summer Palace 9. "riosleftsock 8:37 Mon Jul 3 And for the quizzers to have decent scores despite no photos! Pity there isn't a way actually. Seen so many picture quizzes of all sorts out there from dingbats to film stars as children but just a clue "" Little Italian looking kid with dark hair and dark eyes who has starred in a few movies"" wouldn't work!"
