Long simple chords on an organ/synth that go on forever, a one finger hook and a stabby, simple bridge (one finger with the chord button on, I think). There was a brilliant episode of Soul Music on Radio 4 extra a few weeks ago where Dave Ball discussed how they made it. It was banged out in day in the Studio and used his cheap crappy gear except the the ""blink blink"" which was a sample on a Synclavier that happened to be in the studio. They though nothing of it until the master came back from States and the song been speeded up ever so slightly and that made all the difference.
