West Ham ‘still trying to hijack’ signing – Hammers receive encouragement

West Ham United are battling it out with AS Monaco to sign OH Leuven’s Ezechiel Banzuzi in the winter market.


That’s according to Voetbal International, who say West Ham are ‘still trying to hijack’ the deal from the Ligue 1 side.

The attacking midfielder’s agent has met with Monaco and the two parties have reached an agreement over personal terms.

Monaco have to agree a deal with the Belgian club and VI claim they will meet Leuven on Tuesday to offer a fee of around €13m including bonuses.

Adi Hütter’s side are in the driving seat but ‘fear’ West Ham, who are trying to hijack the operation. Julen Lopetegui’s future at the club seems to be uncertain, and this could give Monaco an edge to quickly wrap up the deal for Banzuzi.

RMC Sport also report on Monaco’s agreement with the 19-year-old for a contract until 2030.

They add Leicester City, who showed interested, are out of the race, but West Ham could still try to snatch Banzuzi from Monaco’s clutches.

Het Nieuwsblad relay VI’s claim and then provide their own information on this case. They also claim the Premier League side could hijack the Monaco’s deal for the Netherlands U21 international.

Even though two other sources have stated Monaco are well placed in the transfer race, the Belgian newspaper claim Leuven haven’t heard anything concrete yet. This should give the Hammers encouragement in their efforts to sign Banzuzi in this window.

West Ham To Run Rule Over Hibernian Talent

Hibernian talent Josh Landers is set to undergo a trial with West Ham United in the next few days, according to the Daily Record.

The 17-year-old striker is a product of Hibs’ academy set-up and is considered to be a promising talent at Easter Road.

Landers signed his first professional contract with the Easter Road outfit in 2023 and made his first-team debut the same year in November against Aberdeen.
The striker also featured twice for Hibs during the 2023/24 season and was on the bench on several occasions.

Landers’ talent has caught the eye south of the border as West Ham have taken an interest in him.
It has been claimed that Hibs youngster Landers is now set to undergo a trial with the Hammers in London.

The West Ham coaching staff want to see the young striker up close on the training pitch in the next few days before making a decision on him.
Landers has three Scotland Under-16 appearances under his belt and now will be hoping to impress the West Ham coaches to earn a move.

Actually, regarding our defending we don’t simply want another CH we're in dire need of a system to effectively defend. Just seeing that discarded players such as Diop and Aguerd are getting good reviews where they are now brings home that fact.

I have practically zero expectations for this window!

Manager is a bit of a fraud and clueless, Stiedten has shown he is not the messiah, anything but the scarf loving cսnt and then we have Sullivan 

If anything, our approach will be scattergun rather than any thought put into, if we do sign anyone it will be odds on underwhelming or unneeded or both.

Thought Ferguson looked exactly what we don't need when he came on today.

Priorities imo are central midfielder with “legs” and pace and a centre forward with strength and pace and a decent shot.

Douglas Luiz on loan would be excellent assuming he can recapture his Villa form and possibly Ferguson on loan as suggested. Getting some dish from Aguerd would seem to be the pre requisite though? Because as is normal for Jan windows, the narrative being spun is that we dont have a “pot to piss in” and will break FFP rules if we spend ecen tuppence.

We are only allowed 4 loan players and I think we have 2 so we need to think carefully about who we do get.
