West Ham ‘still trying to hijack’ signing – Hammers receive encouragement
By Naveen Ullal
West Ham United are battling it out with AS Monaco to sign OH Leuven’s Ezechiel Banzuzi in the winter market.

That’s according to Voetbal International, who say West Ham are ‘still trying to hijack’ the deal from the Ligue 1 side.
The attacking midfielder’s agent has met with Monaco and the two parties have reached an agreement over personal terms.
Monaco have to agree a deal with the Belgian club and VI claim they will meet Leuven on Tuesday to offer a fee of around €13m including bonuses.
Adi Hütter’s side are in the driving seat but ‘fear’ West Ham, who are trying to hijack the operation. Julen Lopetegui’s future at the club seems to be uncertain, and this could give Monaco an edge to quickly wrap up the deal for Banzuzi.
RMC Sport also report on Monaco’s agreement with the 19-year-old for a contract until 2030.
They add Leicester City, who showed interested, are out of the race, but West Ham could still try to snatch Banzuzi from Monaco’s clutches.
Het Nieuwsblad relay VI’s claim and then provide their own information on this case. They also claim the Premier League side could hijack the Monaco’s deal for the Netherlands U21 international.
Even though two other sources have stated Monaco are well placed in the transfer race, the Belgian newspaper claim Leuven haven’t heard anything concrete yet. This should give the Hammers encouragement in their efforts to sign Banzuzi in this window.

West Ham To Run Rule Over Hibernian Talent
Hibernian talent Josh Landers is set to undergo a trial with West Ham United in the next few days, according to the Daily Record.
The 17-year-old striker is a product of Hibs’ academy set-up and is considered to be a promising talent at Easter Road.
Landers signed his first professional contract with the Easter Road outfit in 2023 and made his first-team debut the same year in November against Aberdeen.
The striker also featured twice for Hibs during the 2023/24 season and was on the bench on several occasions.
Landers’ talent has caught the eye south of the border as West Ham have taken an interest in him.
It has been claimed that Hibs youngster Landers is now set to undergo a trial with the Hammers in London.
The West Ham coaching staff want to see the young striker up close on the training pitch in the next few days before making a decision on him.
Landers has three Scotland Under-16 appearances under his belt and now will be hoping to impress the West Ham coaches to earn a move.

We need a proper no thrills centre half in the Dawson and zouma mode . More than we need a striker fullkrug as long as he stays fit is more than good enough. And a box to box midfielder is another must . The biggest obstacle this window is the useless dwarf tight fistedness. .
Actually, regarding our defending we don’t simply want another CH we're in dire need of a system to effectively defend. Just seeing that discarded players such as Diop and Aguerd are getting good reviews where they are now brings home that fact.
PS, It’s no frills not no thrills.
Agree with this. It's the defensive setup of the whole team that is a debacle....the volume of 'big' chances given to the opposition. Just changing the defensive personnel won't make any difference as we have to change the ability of the team to handle transition situations, to give up far less transition situations, etc. By the time the defence are involved it's often too late.
Lopetegui sets his team up to not be out of possession...control the ball control the game....trouble is we're terrible at controlling the ball.

Amen!
im tired of everyone just fucking off players as not good enough. How can that be the case when so many of our players go off to do well elsewhere?

Why wouldn't Todibo want to go when the Greek statue is favoured ahead of him?

Yesterday at 17:20 The Interviews
by
Pierpaolo Matrone @PieroMatroneVincenzo Morabito , agent and market intermediary, gave an interview to Radio Goal, live on
Kiss Kiss Napoli: “Danilo? One of my collaborators is in Juve’s hotel in Riyadh. Juve are looking for defenders, they are not taking Tomori anymore because Conceicao seems to want to evaluate him. Conceicao has blocked all exits, for now. Danilo is not renewing, that’s for sure. For the moment Juventus have limited defenders. Todibo is sending messages to Juve, he regretted going to West Ham, but I think Giuntoli is unlikely to go for players who have said no to him. This morning I spoke to the director of West Ham who told me that Todibo will leave, they spent 190 million euros there.

Whats this Ferguson from Brighton like? Rumours seem to be growing on this one
Does he not get in their first team?
Anybody got thoughts cause I've not really seem him play tbh
I saw his brief cameo in the game against us....first impressions were he was just a younger 'big lump' than Fullkrug. Missed a golden chance, didn't look pacey or mobile or skillful....but it was the briefest of cameos.
Didn't strike me as what we really need.

I have practically zero expectations for this window!
Manager is a bit of a fraud and clueless, Stiedten has shown he is not the messiah, anything but the scarf loving cսnt and then we have Sullivan
If anything, our approach will be scattergun rather than any thought put into, if we do sign anyone it will be odds on underwhelming or unneeded or both.

The London Stadium insider confirmed: “We’ll take input from both [manager & Steidten], but it’s not easy as money has been spent. We now need to spend smarter and explore better deals and options.”
“I’m getting involved myself because I think we did so badly in the summer.”
Did Sullivan actually say this?
Has he forgotten all the transfers he was involved in before this?
It would appear so. It's well known who the Claret and Hugh "Top Source" is.

Making Soler permanent makes absolutely zero sense to me.
He’s not bad on the ball but reminds me of Lanzini after his injury, just even slower and less of an attacking threat!
surely he has to prove some kind of worth before we spend more money on a player whose career is heading in the wrong way?
Couldn’t agree more, isn’t worth anywhere near 20m. We need legs in that midfield, he’s not got any.

Gonzo on Claret and Hugh has 'source quotes' that suggest Sullivan is taking back the transfer reigns.
Doesn't bode well to revert to the model that has proven such a shambles in the past rather than give the new model a chance to bed in.

That could indicate that his "favoured" agents are putting pressure on him; fuck the football, just deliver our commissions.

Priorities imo are central midfielder with “legs” and pace and a centre forward with strength and pace and a decent shot.
Douglas Luiz on loan would be excellent assuming he can recapture his Villa form and possibly Ferguson on loan as suggested. Getting some dish from Aguerd would seem to be the pre requisite though? Because as is normal for Jan windows, the narrative being spun is that we dont have a “pot to piss in” and will break FFP rules if we spend ecen tuppence.

Ferguson on loan seems favourite. Possibly one of the Chelsea fringe centre halves on loan too. That’s probably it.
We are only allowed 4 loan players and I think we have 2 so we need to think carefully about who we do get.
That's the rules for domestic loans. There's different rules for loans outside of England. I think we'll be fine.
