May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.
Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?
Window this close season comes in two parts:
Part 1: 1st June to 10th June
Part 2: 16th June to 1st September
He was indeed, but also under Bilic like the other players mentioned, and he definitely wasn't a Bilic buy which Antonio himself confirmed recently.
Yep, it goes to show that Bilic could work well with some of the players dumped on him. He managed to get the best out of Antonio all over the park, it was quite a sight. We're gonna have to stop reminiscing about Bilic as I'm welling up as it is and it's not fair.
Antonio was whilst we were still at the Boleyn just as Payet, Ogbonna and Lanzini were as well. Yet that worm in the Boardroom would have us all believe we couldn't make such signings at the old Ground. They WERE Next Level signings for us.
The move was built on a pack of lies and I argued it to be the case before we moved that it wouldn't allow us to get significantly better than what we could attract back then.

Granted he did berk up Europe which also brought tears to my eyes but again, the transfer windows were a catastrophe.
It's what the budget the Club allowed him to afford which is the issue. Although I'd wager that most of them were dumped on him, afterall he wanted Carvalho all along but was fucked around and denied even that signing alone. That tells you everything you need to know about how the Club was operating.
Absolutely. Antonio was a Sully special as well.
I'd say was AND STILL IS operating.

I would love to know the breakdown of which of those were picked by the manager of the time and which were not.

Giving their all and getting us I'm afraid is not good enough for justifying the Stadium move. That's what it all boiled down too and was their argument all along. The Snodgrasses of the world, as lovely a bloke that he is and a trier, is definitely not a next level type signing. And to be fair to him, it's more a broader point made as there was nearly next to fuck all levels above from what we were used to buying at the Boleyn.
Walker-Peters
Wilson
Diouf
Hermansen
Brownhill (possibly)

I can't wait to see this latest Email offer.
Dear Monaco Board,
Can we borrow one of your players because we have no more money due to PSR.
If you can help, I also promise to send over to your Hotmail account an entire back catalogue of the finest re-mastered Emmanuelle French porn that took me ages to personally convert from Betamax.

I'd rather have eleven Snodgrass' than the current lot of wasters, bar Bowen and AWB.

Let us not forget it was Snodgrass and Jose Fonte who all Sullivan's family 'begged him not to sign' but the poor bloke just put his trust in other people, which we discovered conveniently, months afterward with the power of hindsight after neither really worked out. Also after Diop's first season where he wasn't awful he proudly puffed his little chest out to let us all know that he was 'one of his', which as we know ended well with the player underperforming and being sold for a loss...
To be fair I quite liked Snodders when he played. Limited, but gave his all and 'got us'.

Hahaha yup- and some of the other numerous grammar and spelling mistakes. Coming from a fucking billionaire businessman. Insane to the point that it's a parody.

Poor cսnt Bilic was fucked over big time during that disastrous spell when the Club also caved in to Payets demands to leave "because I can be a dickhead if I want to" and left him with Robert fucking Snodgrass. The 2017 version of Brownhill.
Bilic was stitched up left and right by the Board in the Transfer market when we moved. And we were supposed to believe the move would take us all to the "Next Level", when it achieved the exact opposite.

It's amazing to think back now that had Sullivan actually coughed up what would have been a fair price for old Willy Carvalho (£30M) when Bilic wanted him when we moved, then I strongly suspect our fortunes would have significantly changed from that point on as he was such a crucial target for the sake of the Team.
He would have been our ready-made linchpin for years to come and our next level signing that would have helped our transition in to the shithole.
Instead what could he only manage to bring in over the course of 2 Summer Windows in that position? Havard fucking Nordtveit and Edmilson Fernandes!
Bilic didn't stand a chance with what he was given when we moved. Fuck I hate Sullivan so much for what he's managed to royally fuck up.
The only thing shocking about that correspondence, knowing Sullivan, is that it wasn't written in crayon with backwards capital 'R's. The 'threat' at the end would be hilarious if it weren't from the bloke running our club, like he's doing them a favour. (This is what led to the Dildo Brothers comments that marked the end of Bilic isn't it?) Imagine the one to Southampton.
Sully 'Look this is the second time I've had to email you about this. If you don't sell us Fernandes for 32 million instead of 30 ASAP we'll go and get Josh Brownhill on a free.'
Them 'Ok, well fuck off and email Josh Brownhill instead then. Bye.'

I know it's not shared by many, but this is why I think Potter is caught in a similar hopeless situation here. This just feels like that situation repeating itself albeit with a less popular fall guy picking the side from the dregs made available to him.

As much as I don’t like Liverpool maybe we should take a leaf out of there book when it comes to transfers, identity your target, pay up and get them, VVD and Alisson come to mind and raised eyebrows at the fee paid but both have been instrumental in there success, also note they seem to sell players for tidy sums they deem surplus.
Sold a young FB to Bournemouth for 25 mil who hasn’t even played for there first team, read that they have raised 240M in this window, so no wonder they can offer so much for Isak! Mind you looks like the Saudis are not having any of it, about the only club who could afford to do that

Exclusive: West Ham have submitted a bid for Monaco midfielder Soungoutou Magassa. France Under-21 international is seen as the likely replacement for Edson Alvarez. Story up soon #whufc
So he's going to run about like a headless chicken, get booked all the time, then throw his toys out the pram and demand to leave the club after contributing basically nothing of note?
Seriously though, I know absolutely fuck all about him so I hope if this isn't just more gaslighting bullshit, that he's good and it's a serious bid. I saw he can play DM or CB so if he's got two legs he'll probably be our best player in both positions. Only played 46 times in the last three seasons but more each season so I assume he's maybe a bit raw and progressing.
He's supposed to be decent and Forest bid for him before but were told a price and didn't come back (18 million euro) apparently we've bid less but a first bid, rejected too apparently
No doubt Sully has gone in there, little chest all puffed up, given it the billy big bollocks Connor McGregor swagger and offered 10 million. Instantly rejected with derision, So next Wednesday he'll go back with 12 and tell them to take it or leave it, get the same response and then moan that it's impossible to buy players for this manager, forgetting he just bid 32 million for someone else. We're getting to the point where even if he's not that good (yet) we are going to have to take a bit of a flier on someone if we're only going to be swimming in the shallow bit of the pool.
