Russell Brand
Dispatches tonight could be about him so he has jumped in first dismissing claims and rumours and saying anything he did in past was consensual. No doubt it will be said that this is The Matrix coming after him due to his opposition to mainstream media.
Re: Russell Brand
"El Scorchio wrote... Re: Russell Brand So he used his position of power to take advantage of two young girls then. You have no idea how old the girls were - or even if they were girls. Position of power? It’s common knowledge I’m a truck driver, just how much power do you think we have? Our AAA laminates do not extend to escorting or dressing rooms. I’ve no more power than the catering staff."

"I've no idea if these women are being truthful, but the tone and filming style reminds me of one of those spoof documentaries by chris morris. even the type they're using when going to ad breaks reminds me of them"

Re: Russell Brand
Remember I don't know him and have absolutely nothing to do with him. This is laughable though. Now a girl who was 16 at the time decides to rewrite history. Fucking hell.

Re: Russell Brand
"You raise interesting points chim and the thing is - if a thousand girls happily allow you to get away with something it’s going to make you feel like that something is ok. The others in this sense are almost acting as enablers. I feel similarly about women who go out with psycho types who then end up getting battered by them. It’s like, they had no problems with their husband being a violent scumbag when it was someone else they were slapping about"

Re: Russell Brand
"I think the idea of Russell Brand raping someone completely mad, and I am talking as someone who's sister was raped, never recovered from it and was dead at 50. I've been around RB at football (never actually spoke to him) and he was fighting them off him with a shitty stick. My old job involved taking Boy bands around, Blue, Westlife, Boyzone, S-Club 7, Steps and probably loads more I've forgotten and I could never believe the little girls who fanatically followed them around, all trying to act like they were much older, asking for cigarettes for example. They used to bug ME and I was only a bloke on a motorcycle who'd delivered one of the band to Radio 1 or MTV or wherever. It wasn't just little girls either, they had the pick of ANY age-group they liked. I was genuinely shocked. I don't want to tell tales but I once had to pick a famous ex-footballer up from an internal flight, a foxy stewardess whispered something in his ear and they disappeared into the toilet together. I went back to the bike and he came out after 15 minutes with a bright red face saying 'sorry Chim, delayed flight'. I could tell you 10 stories like that. Honestly, there are girls who seem to collect famous people's cock like others collect autographes. Ten years later they look in on their miserable, empty lives, see that they thought they could fuck themselves into people like Brand's lives ('I know he shags everyone but he'll see I'M special) and now they're 30 and The Times knock on their door. A classic case of the establishment circling the wagons and stitching up someone who knows exactly what cunts they are. Can they do it now we're ALL conspiracy theorists to an extent?"

Re: Russell Brand
I had my personal #mee2. I was working as a volunteer in a charity shop . At the end of the shift when the shop was closing manager called me into her office. She was all smiles and rested a tit on my shoulder when she was standing behind me looking at pictures on my phone. She is married and has teenage kids so made my excuses and left .The next day she was fuming took the piss out of my age and then called my stupid.I left and wrote a letter of complaint to the main office. She called me and asked if we could talk and I told her no. If that was a man manager behaving like that to woman volunteer they would be fired and righty so . Other than her being embarrassed nothing really happened to her

Re: Russell Brand
None of the people who I know knew him when he was young ever had a good word to say about him. Doesn’t make him a rapist though. They seem to have done their work on it though. Allegations seem to predate his new career. Like Alex Jones and others he realized there was money to be made.

Re: Russell Brand
"Nurse Ratched 4:50 Sat Sep 16 Re: Russell Brand I take your point Nurse. But reading the Sunday Times article, there is nothing trivial about what Brand is accused of and at least one victim went to the rape crisis center at the time and the accusations by the 16 year old are stomach turning."
Re: Russell Brand
"There was a lot that was OK in 80s. I was in a moderately successful psych band (not in a recording sense but we regularly pulled a couple of hundred to gigs and more at good venues) and the whole groupie thing was massive eye-opener to naive, callow, 20 year old me. I thought it was tall tales told by old rockers. I got groped a few times and was once pinned down by two who had broken onto the backstage dressing room and only just forced them off.. The only person who took advantage of this opprtunity was our singer who was older and the only one in the band who was married. He was also an arrogant twat. Our keyboard player (who was female and is still a freind) and her best buddy Adele had a whale of a time too."

"So he used his position of power to take advantage of two young girls then. I say that tongue in cheek of course, but any situation like that can be easily twisted or painted in any light depending on circumstances."
Re: Russell Brand
"Good post nurse, “acceptable in the 80’s?” I’ve met RB and oddly enough John Leslie on a few occasions, both blokes are what we can call hyper, constantly fidgety always looking about, famous and reasonably wealthy. Trust me, they have enough on a plate not to go out and force anyone to go to a hotel room and get naked.. Colleague of mine was working on ‘get me to the Greek’ he was only shifting set about but shagged two of RB’s groupies on a promise of meeting the bloke."

Re: Russell Brand
I'm really surprised that they didn't put every effort into getting him cancelled whilst Covid & the vaccination programme were in full flow. Waiting until now stinks a fair bit...unless he's got something substantial on the subject up his sleeve and they know but cannot say anything about it without implicating themselves until he reveals it. Take him or leave him but this looks like 100% media/administration spite & revenge.

Re: Russell Brand
I suspect ?Ålvarez simply sat down to have a rest during the substitution interval. That was used by Moyes to hook him instead of Soucek. Very much seemed like but then I was only watching a stream. Did he hobble off?

Re: Russell Brand
"It will be interesting to see what sort of evidence is presented, which you would hope would be a somewhat more substantial than ‘my word against his’ considering they’ve made a documentary of over an hour about it. seen as loads I am sure will just consider him bang to rights upon seeing any headlines or sound bites. It’ll be a shame if it’s just a list of unsubstantiated claims with the conclusion of ‘guilty’ at the end. If it’s compelling and backed up then fair play."
Re: Russell Brand
Aaand the real motive becomes clear. From the bbc article: “The Sunday Times said all the women felt ready to speak only after being approached by reporters. The newspaper said several felt compelled to do so given Brand's newfound prominence as an online wellness influencer.” So they were fine when he was a massive Hollywood star but now he’s saying things online that question the narrative they feel compelled to speak out. Hope he comes out of it even more popular. The narcissistic sex case
