"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"""is ""Diddy"" a billionaire?"" He's close to being one in the USA (worth $820m), miles away from being one if you're talking a UK billion."

"He's probably just making a point. Sounds like he's trying to get a group of high profile African Americans to buy the team with him to try and 'redress the balance', as I believe almost all the other owners are middle aged or old white men and women. Shahid Khan at Jacksonville being the only real exception?"

"is ""Diddy"" a billionaire? he will need to be seriously minted to buy an NFL franchise. as he decided that twitter was his best medium to launch this bid i very much doubt he is serious."

"That's a very good point about injuries etc, Definitely lots more knee/ankle/ligament injuries than ever before. I do think the players are a bit faster thanks to lighter equipment, a bit bigger on the whole, and probably they hit a little harder. There's no doubt that running routes basically on carpet where the defenders aren't really allowed to put hands on you like in the old days really helps quarterbacks and receivers rack up yards and stats like never before and linemen are being chosen to pass protect, to the point where the running back is not so often the star or workhorse of the team any more. One notable exception sadly being that cսnt in dallas. I think a lot of it is to do with fantasy football to be honest, which is now a huge source of revenue. The rules have been slightly altered year on year in order to encourage high scoring games and shootouts where possible. It's a shame really- I love seeing a shut down defensive performance, but that doesn't happen so much any more."

"scorch, you talk about playing conditions but don't you think this new hybrid turf is a big reason for so many injuries in the game now? I don't hold with the argument that the game is any quicker and I'm convinced these playing surfaces fuck players physically"

"never saw much of him scorch but have watched some videos and I agree, he's up there with the best power backs I know I keep going on about Riggins but during that Superbowl season, in the four playoff games he carried the ball almost 140 times and was 33 :.)"

"Yeah, you cant compare modern era QBs to older ones through stats. It's like playing catch for receivers now thanks to the rules which offer them and the passer so much protection, compared to 10 or 20 years ago. Also add the fact that playing conditions are much better now- you see footage of the likes of Unitas playing in mudbaths and now most of them are playing on pristine or fake turf."

"Miike- in all seriousness I agree he was a quality player, whichever team you follow :) Technically a full back, but I'm adding Larry Csonka to the list too, if we're talking the best white runners."

"Cam will probably end up breaking all of people like moon's records but you have to take into consideration the era and how much easier it is to pass the ball now and how much more teams pass, Just have to look at someone like matt stafford who will probably end up in the top 10 in most passing categories"

"haha, I am biased but watch footage of him and how quick he was combined with his height. I know you had other great power backs like bettis but he was more of a fat cսnt who was hard to tackle :.)"

"The Diesel was the second best power back of all-time, Brown the best. the reason for ranking Riggo so highly is because of his speed combined with his ability to hurt defenders"

"Where it all gets silly anyway, as who gives a shit what colour someone is? What they basically mean is he has to be classed the best 'black' QB of all time as he wouldn't be mentioned on a single list otherwise, as all of the greats are honky's and he's nowhere near any of them. What next, the greatest white RB? Precious brigade (not you lot obviously) crack me up, as a white bloke I'll happily admit that black fellas are bloody awesome running backs and it seems my brethren are not. P Diddy is clearly a racist cock who knows nothing about football."

"Hermit Road 12:41 Tue Dec 19 ""Not only that, but he rushed for over 700 in his biggest passing year so that 4051 becomes 4759."" Come on man, that's not really how they tend to count things but if you want Moon had 4689 yards passing plus 215 yards rushing one year giving him at total of 4,904. Again the point is Cam is very good and probably will be a HOFer but to this point at least, he has edged ahead of Moon in some areas but not others, not blown his stats up. Wouldn't you say?"

"Woodford Ive seen alot of people say that but by the rules the goalline only ends the play once you have established yourself in control and as a runner, to do that you have to complete the catch to the ground, Its a very convoluded rule but it was enforced correctly, what the steelers did on the 2 plays after that was just awful"

Cam Newton only puts his body on the line when it makes Cam Newton look good. You only need to see the video of him bottling out of fighting for a loose football in the super bowl a few years ago to see what he's really made of.

"""4 times over 3000 yards compared Newton's 1 (he threw for over 5000 his last 2 years in Edmonton, not that that counts) His biggest year was bigger than Cams. 4,690 - 4,051. 6 times over 20 TDs compared to Newton's 4.""ù Newton has played for 6 years to Moon's 16, so even on those selective stats Cam is ahead. Cam has already scored more TDs in a season, 35 to Moon's 33, but he also rushed for 10 TDs in the same year. Not only that, but he rushed for over 700 in his biggest passing year so that 4051 becomes 4759."

"crystal falace 1:34 Mon Dec 18 Re: 2016 NFL Season I'd certainly go with Vick. Gutted RG3 never fulfilled his promise. The Heisman trophy winner last year looks the bollocks though (i forget his name) Re your point about the disallowed TD last night, surely the fact the ball had already crossed the TD line under control means that anything that happened thereafter is irrelevant."
