"Been through bad time lately with suffering with this. Dark thoughts as well. I know some posters on here suffer with this. Anyone come through the other side of this shit?

"A number of posters have been yellow carded and told to stay off this thread unless they have anything constructive to add. This is a thread that has been very useful to so many, for any other posters with scores to settle, argue on another thread. This thread is sacrosant.Thank you"

Its not really my place to comment on your private life but you are viewing everything from the perspective of a person suffering from depression

"Cheers guys Had a chat with a different Gp from normal, she’s giving me some different pills. To be honest, she was Chinese and I found her quite difficult to understand on a crackly phone. She’s recommended the usual talking therapies but warned that there’s a huge waiting list because loads of people are suffering right now My issue really is the impact I’m having on my family. I think I’ve said before in here that I feel like, with people in general, you get one shot at the ‘I’ve got mental health problems’ line - you get sympathy the first time, when it recurs that sympathy doesn’t come back. My wife has had enough of dealing with me, and I dont blame her. I go in an awful downward spiral and I’m impossible to deal with and utterly useless for anything - she ends up essentially being a single parent. That then impacts on my children. As my Gp said, you can’t really help anyone else or make them happy if you aren’t helping yourself or making yourself happy. But I think the patience and willingness for that to happen has really gone now - other people can’t put their lives on hold for you to get better, and I know my wife has, understandably, had enough of me now"

Sniper make sure any meeting requests are not between the hours of your appointment.....you first son....otherwise the work could go proper south at a later date if you don't get to try to nip this in the bud......

"Sniper, just remember the reasons you're speaking to the doctors mate, It's a huge hassle as the receptionists are usually horrible cunts and just want you off the phone, but try remember the reasons you're reaching out for help and persist with it - as it'll be worth it. Keep us posted mate!"

"Thanks guys Brilliantly, I missed the call from the Gp and they left a message telling me to call back. So is did. And was told to call back today as they didn’t have any appointments. So i did. And was told to call back on Monday as they didn’t have any appointments this week I think my Gp must’ve given the receptionists a kick up the arse as they called back this afternoon and I have a telephone appointment for tomorrow morning. Just hope I’m not in a meeting when it comes as it’s ‘any time between 8 and 12’, as if tackling your mental health is the same as waiting for a delivery Shambles really - you can see how some people would just give up. I’m feeling pretty rock bottom and, last time this happened, no way would I have called them back three times because they can’t read notes properly"

"Sniper, hope the doctors appointment goes well mate. When I first started taking the AD's, for about a week I felt absolutely shit, as my body got used to them and it balanced the chemicals in my brain out. Now, whenever I don't take them I go back to feeling like that, as a imbalance occurs in my brain, or some shit. Let us know how you get on mate."

"Morning Sniper, we’ll done on realising you need a bit of help right now. There is loads of different options for the meds, explain to your doctor your reluctance to go on anything that will have negative side effects. I had to go thru 6 different ones to find what I could tolerate when my journey started 4 years ago. I’m the end I found liquid Prozac was the one that I could tolerate. Used to inject it into my mouth in the mornings. Was on it for approx 3 months. Helped a lot. Maybe Write down what you want from your medication and that’ll stop you getting confused or mixed up when your talking to your GP Good luck with it. Fingers crossed for you"

Had to book a chat with my Gp for tomorrow to try to go back on some meds. I really don’t want to as i found they just make me feel a bit giddy and fuzzy but 4 years ago I was in a horrendous place and I really don’t want to go back there again.

"First thing I need to combat is the guilt, which I've started a meditation routine last night, it's a self forgiveness hopopono meditation. Meditation has got me this far, so I know it's something I can fall on and help me get through stuff. So lets see how we go."

"Thank you for all the comments, it's really appreciated. IT's the wider complications it causes, as it's completely destroyed all the trust the wife had in me, I feel like i've let her and more importantly my son down. I have vowed to never, ever go back there again. I'm staying away from drink as well, albeit this wasn't the trigger. I was home alone, the wife was at my mums as we had a boiler issue so had no heating so she and the boy left. I just went off the rails. Forgot how bad the days after were, I know I can pick myself up and get clean again, it's just winning back the wife is going to be the biggest challenge."

"Well done on getting to 17 months clean Bolty, that’s a huge achievement. You can do it again, you’ve proven to yourself that you can. I just know you’ll get back on the horse and do your lad proud again. I won’t say good luck, because you don’t need it. You just need to be you. You’ve got this, you really have. Big love"
