Daily Quiz anyone?
"If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells? I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature. I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers. You mark your own answers and post your score. I will then record the scores and at the end of the ""lockdown"" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves) Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions. Any interest?"

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
Sorry Zeb I didn't read or re-read my own questions correctly! I thought I had typed approx 385BC :( So I can see why you thought it couldn't have been Plato First time for everything VAR on a VAR I'll grant you a point for knowing the Question was wrong! So its a maximum And I'll have to give a point to everyone for a wrong question.

"Plato wasn't alive in 325 BC though. Arstotle was and he founded the Lyceum about that time. I know it counts for nothing but studied Philisophy at University for a year and we covered this period. Leibnitz is the man when it comes to Philisphy and, philosophically, Descartes was N idiot (""I think therefore I am"" was good but rest of that meditation is predicated on the existence of God, and a benign God at that)."

Re: Daily Quiz anyone?
"Quick VAR check According to St Andrew's University The Academy of Plato Founded in 387BC Since the words ""academy"" and ""academic"" come from the name of the area where Plato taught According to Britannica .com Plato’s Academy, founded in the 380s, was the ultimate ancestor of the modern university (hence the English term academic); an influential centre of research and learning, it attracted many men of outstanding ability. I can't quickly find my source for the question but it matches with these two different sources. And Plato was alive in 380 BC has he died in 348BC some 32 years later No Goal :)"
