Euro 2024 - Inc Southgate resignation

"We seem to have an England v Bosnia thread but not an actual Euro 2024 thread so here it is So, do we realistically think England can win it? On paper we obviously have a very talented squad but I just don't see us going all the way. For me it's ""same old"" when it comes to England. Breeze the group, favourable draw in last 16 and win then up against far superior opposition in the QFs and out. At best I can see us at the SF stage before being beaten again. Winners for me: France, Portugal, Spain Dark horses: Germany - even though it's a home tournament they've been in a consolidation period, could go close Biggest flops: Scotland - no goals scored Top goalscorer: Mbappe I'm just hoping it's a decent tournament with plenty of decent games that's not ruined by VAR (are they using it?) consolidation period but could go close"

"This has now become one of them real heavyweight Euro classics, just seems a little strange that it's still daylight."

"Should have said it was going to be a great second half, I suppose. Never mind, this is the bollocks."

"Of course I'm watching it, just pointing out it wasn't the ""great"" first half you were on about. Second half much better and decent now"

Germans much the better after going behind with Spain hanging on Can’t handle the big centre forward … if England play them Toney should start

Decent first half but way to scrappy and stop/start to be labelled a good game. At the stage now where progress in the competition is far more important than performance.

"An interesting game maybe but wouldn't say that great, lacking in quality in the final third. Teams are terrified to concede first in these big games, so can see a scrappy, tense affair. Hope it don't go to ET as I'm fucking cream crackered."

In the modern game suspensions after 2 yellows is a nonsense Should be wiped after the group games and should be 3

Bit of an arm wrestle but the Germans harrying the Spaniards out of their tippy tappy with 59% possession Williams a danger but that Le Normand looks an accident waiting to happen. Will miss the semi final like Rudiger if they make it

"It’s obvious the refs have been instructed not to book whenever possible, EUFA and the sponsors do not want the star players suspended for later rounds, missing players does not sell airline tickets etc. As already mentioned Kross should have been shown at least one by now, if it had been a premiership game the Taylor would have shown at least 4/5 yellows by now."

Might have imagined it but understood Moyes has an article today (The Telegraph maybe?) where he defends Southgate What a surprise

I'm finding it a bit mad we're going to play a formation we last played 4 years ago. I don't see how Southgate's preparation and planning for this tournament could be any worse than it currently is.

Southgate is a loser so I expect us to get to the semi final with Holland and lose.
